Customer returns are too often

by Seller_xMs02N28UDswl

I am selling Air Purifiers of an Internationally known brand which are expensive.

The customer returns it by using for few days and in the process the Filters get used and the product becomes unsaleable when it is returned. Filters are expensive. Amazon does not easily pass the Safe T claim for it. How can we overcome this? How can we bind the customer for it? any suggestions.

Secondly, In odd cases they break the hinges of the panel and cannot be resold in the market. Amazon makes a partial refund which does not commensurate with the cost of the machine. How do we overcome this? How can we ask Amazon for a better compensation?

I would highly appreciate an answer from an expert in dealing with Amazon.

Regards.

Amazon will never reply to such questions. The T safe claim is peanuts and we seller have to bear the loss and most of the time returned products are damaged by the Amazons courier handlers to the extend that they cannot be sold again in the market. The refund which they give in that we dont even recover the referral fee they charge. We have to keep following up of days/weeks and months for the compensation with Amazon team all to get a pathetic response saying we cannot do much. Amazon should understand the value of the seller and their products which we doubt that they will never.

Amazon is using different yardstick for amazon.in and amazon.com. Refer to US amazon.com return policies regarding return cost

Amazon.com Help: Return Costs

Here you can clearly identify, customer return are charged to the customers.

You’ll be charged a single flat fee for each return shipment, plus a smaller fee for each item in that shipment. In each return shipment, the item with the highest per-shipment cost determines the per-shipment fee; per-item charges are applied according to the products you’re returning.

If you return an item using a paid method, we’ll deduct the cost of return shipping and restocking fees from your refund.

If you choose to ship the item on your own, you’ll pay the carrier when you ship your return. If the return is the result of an Amazon error, we’ll refund your return shipping costs up to a maximum amount.

But in amazon.in, it is not the case. All returns are free to customer, even it is the fault of the customer, seller has to bear the to and fro shipping cost.
