Looking for some insight or feedback if anyone has had a similar issue.
We work directly with a brand that sends their product directly to FBA from their (Brand) 3PL. Something to point out is that their SKUs are managed and sold directly on our seller central account, not the brand's own.
The process until recently was using the 2D workflow application we could create the shipments and their respective shipment IDS in Seller central without having to provide weights and dims. This helpful work around allowed the 3PL to start picking and packing both LTL and SPD shipments and once finalized they could update the 2D Workflow site on their end which directly updates Seller Central. This also allowed for quantity adjustments to be made within the timeframe allowed in Seller Central. Worked like a charm for all parties until this 2Dworkflow had an API update.
The process now is creating the shipment in the 2D workflow, skipping steps 2a and 2b in Seller Central shipment process until the 3PL has the shipments built out. Only then can I go into the shipment within Seller Central and manually input what each carton will contain and its weights and dims, even though its going LTL. A couple of issues with this are in the time it takes to build out the orders at the 3PL, they have shorted the shipment over dozens of units which cannot be updated in SC anymore to reflect the updates. The Shipment sheet Amazon requires to be filled out based on cartons can now only be submitted if the quantities match what was initially created.
A headache I am trying to brainstorm and work through because I don't want inbound shipments to get flagged over and over again causing my larger seller central account to be shut down from sending to FBA. My first solution was to not use this 2D workflow anymore and do it the "Normal" way, however, the 3PL refuses to update their processes at a busy point in their year and help on their end.
Does anyone have any similar experiences? Solutions that may have worked? Using another 3PL would be a costly but effective solution, however, they refuse to allocate time to helping us transition and do so.
Thanks in advance
