Amazon have lost my pallet whilst frustrating a claim
Amazon have lost a full pallet of stock with thousands of pounds in value.
It was quite sneaky really as I have a number of shipments over a long period and it is pretty random on when things get check in.
Whilst going through my list, I noticed that a full pallet had been closed off with zero units. No highlighting or warning just no acknowledgment. Strange so I raised an investigation.
I had to upload a proof of purchase ie invoice and proof of delivery, pretty straight forward you would think.
Received a response stating they wanted more invoices over the previous 6 months. I wrote back and stated that they don’t need these invoices and it is commercially sensitive information to show them my trading book for the last 6 months, it feels like there is an alliterative motive in asking when it is not relevant to the stock sent in. I had 960 units ordered and delivered to me on the invoice and I used 360 of these units for fulfillment. The invoice was dated just over a week before I sent to Amazon.
Secondly I used the UPS partner carrier program and the tracking shows it had been received at Amazon but not checked in. I supplied a pdf of a photo that was on the UPS logs system showing a stamped receipt of delivery and this was what I forwarded onto Amazon.
Amazon have come back and said that unless I supply more receipts and a better image of their document with their stamp then I am not able to proceed with my claim.
I have wrote to the MD office and they have got back to say that they cannot do anything whilst the case is still live and back up that I should carry out the requests on the case.
I just don’t get it. Amazon actually admit to losing the stock and they are not disputing any of the evidence which to be fair they hold all the evidence anyway.
They have no excuse for not processing the claim other than to put up barriers in the hope that I will just give up. Even if I relent and supply another invoice which has no relevance to the claim, they will still claim that their delivery document is not clear enough. The document looks clear enough to me though.
Any suggestions?

How long have you been chasing? After a set number of days - probably somewhere between 30 and 60 I would be considering sending a letter before action notification of intent to file a small claims case to recover cost of the items lost citing evidence already presented to Amazon on case #xxx

That is why your not getting anywhere with this.
It is far from an unusual request for Amazon to make.
Whilst it may well be sensitive information, you can black out pricing on the invoices.
However, your not going to get around not providing it. At least without a very long protracted battle anyway.

I would say also raise a case with UPS logistics too, as once we had a signed BOL but the pallets were not delivered yet, and showed up like 4 weeks after this…

It’s getting worse, I am now being asked to supply six months worth of invoices and furthermore proof that I have paid the invoices. I have proof of this but don’t understand why I have to go through it. I am being told it is standard operating procedure.
Imagine going into a pub and knocking over somebody’s drink. You apologise and offer to buy another drink and say what are you drinking? You then think hang on a minute, I wonder if they purchased that drink from the venue so you go back and say “Did you buy that drink in here and if so have you got a receipt?” They respond,“a receipt but you have just offered to replace the drink you spilt but as it happens yes I do have a receipt here you go” I then say “Are you a regular and is this your usual drink?” “yes it is my regular place to drink and I usually drink the same thing” My response “oh in that case, could you supply me your last six months of receipts as I believe the last receipt you gave me is a fake” Until then I am not doing anything. Even if you do give me six months of receipts, you will then have to wait and see whether I am going to replace that drink.
I really do think I’m losing the plot.
