Amazon refunded buyer 100 days AFTER receiving order

#1

Buyer received a wood table on March 26th, fulfilled by FBA. On July 4th, buyer successfully requested a refund, that’s a full 100 days after receipt. Seller support gave me the information below. Is that it now, do I have to take the loss (and it was an expensive table)?

“Please know that in most cases, customers can request to return an item within 30 days of receiving it. Amazon may make case-by-case exceptions and accept return requests beyond 30 days of receipt.”

And that is one of the biggest drawbacks of using FBA…
They can and do, do this on occasion.
You need to find out why it was returned.
Amazon may well cover the cost anyway.

But the big thing to remember, is that you must price with the above in mind.

Amazon have extended their returns policy again because of the coronavirus. That’ll be why it was refunded I bet

It’s not necessarily because of extended returns.
Amazon can and do refund customers when they complain about an item. I’ve actually had this when it’s been 12 months or more.

Thanks for the advice. I will factor into costs in future.
