Delivery attempted 3 times without success
Customer not in to receive order on three separate attempts by courier and a calling card left on each occasion. Order required a signature. Customer asked why order was not left in Porch? We replied explaining that order required a signature. Customer states no calling cards left albeit customer had previously contacted courier. Tracking information sent to customer on date dispatched. Courier now returning order to us. We have paid for initial outward P+P £7.12 and are now going to be charged the same for returning to us. Customer now demanding order be sent again (another £7.12) and if not in to be left with a neighbour. What is Amazons policy on this???

For one they do NOT recognize replacement deliveries, so you would be sending entirely at your own risk so if the customer claimed INR, since the original is being returned Amazon would simply do a refund from your account.
But unfortunately you probably have to swallow the carrier charges since the buyer did not get his order, whatever the cause [him not beig home].
Best to simply refund and move on.
If he wants another item sent he needs to reorder, preferably from someone else…

Refund the order (once you have it back) and request customer to re-order.

Annoying isn’t it
I wave £20 charges away weekly from customers who can’t be bothered to contact couriers
There should be a law against this, it’s fine for companies like Amazon who probably only pay £2 for each delivery - but for small sellers we are massively out of pocket because it costs so much for us to send
