Do Amazon Moderators feedback concerns raised in seller forums?

So, as the subject states, do the moderators ever pass any feedback regards to the discussions that take place here?

Once again, a listing of mine has been vandalised/ modified and I can’t imagine how this can keep happening on such a protected environment? You raise it with SS and they keep sending you in loops and it can take months before anyone actually takes actions.

So please, do tell me, do the mods feedback seller concerns to the relevant departments, or if not, can we at least start now please???

I went to an Amazon Webinar a little while ago and they were referencing comments made on the forums. From what I recall it was mostly around the new Amazon cancellation policy.

Therefore it does appear that someone does monitor the forums and this is fed back.

However I would expect that the feedback they pass back is mostly comments on policy changes. I wouldn’t expect them to take any action on individual seller issues this would normally have to be dealt with by seller support.

Exactly how the feedback loop from the forum works is a mystery - if there is even a loop. It’s certainly true that some issues raised on here have later been fixed, but it’s not possible to say that was as a result of Amazon visiting the forum.

It might help if the moderators are reading this thread - they would respond as to how feedback is handled at their end… just a thought.

I wouldn’t get any hopes up of anything changing anytime soon.

Given the countless threads over the years regarding the archaic messaging system, a-z issues, pending orders, numerous separate problems affecting listings, and general account issues etc,… the list just goes on and on.

Maybe one day the platform will improve for 3rd party sellers, we can all but hope I guess.

I feel like the US seller forums have much better engagement from Amazon moderators than the Europe/UK ones :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This is a long standing debate on this forum.
Here are a few of my own observations
1 The mods very very occasionally get involved but this is usually for a specific problem concerning a specific seller. It is rarely for a general policy problem such as VTR

2 The main function of the mods appears to be (although in reality they probably do a lot more) to close duplicate threads

3 Virtually all adverse comments on these threads ( and there are many thousands of them! ) go unchallenged by the mods – which would make you think the mods are not monitoring ------ but on the other hand…

4 … They are clearly monitoring as many of the debates that go on here end up being “seller polls”

5 The seller forums are actively promoted by Amazon as part of their “help” system (Many people would argue it’s amazon’s only help system!!). You would therefore think that Amazon would have an interest in making sure that what is being said on the forum is factually correct. Sadly this is often not the case. (There are a lot of forum regulars who give lots of sound advice but there others not quite so good)

6 As it’s virtually impossible to get help from Amazon’s actual “Help desk” I think it is imperative that the mods on the forum start to play a much bigger role and start , as the OP says, to relay our problems to the relevant departments

My take on this is that moderators are there to moderate the forums and may feedback anything that is relevant or having issues. I don’t know whether they look at individual accounts but I would daresay the forums are a useful tool for all Amazon employees at all levels so it could be a choice to get some insight into what is happening on the coalface at Amazon.

I have spoken directly with an Amazon rep on a concern that I had. i don’t feel it would be right to share too much detail about it, but when I said i had raised the issue on forums, he said he had seen it and was one of the reasons why he reached out to me to engage on the issue.

He was not a moderator but he obviously received the feedback either by stumbling on it for himself or may have been passed on, who knows? Remember it is an open forum and not a place to contact Amazon directly so whether the moderators feedback the information or not is irrelevant as all of Amazon have access to it anyway. If a moderator sees repeated questions or know something straight forward, they will comment and help if they can, Jessica as someone else stated springs to mind.

The whole point of the forum is to try and be independent as possible so there needs to be a balance between sellers helping each other and Amazon stepping in from time to time. I think the balance is actually quite good when it comes to this and always appreciate the odd comment from the moderators.

Just about the only thing they seem to be hot on is closing down duplicate threads.

If would be good to see if a mod actually responds to this thread.

I doubt it very much and if they do, nobody seems to take any notice
