Error 8005 Identity Attribute problem? But SKU doesn't exist anywhere
I’ve been stuck attempting to re-upload a certain product.
The Backstory of this is that the company had various products caught in stranded inventory. We got orders to remove stranded inventory, delete out the SKUs completely, and re-upload them with newly generated ASINs, then ship the product back in.
This has worked for all of the SKUs except for one… for whatever reason, every time I attempt to upload this one product SKU the file errors out with Error 8005 Stating that, “You are attempting to change an identity attribute for this SKU. To proceed, please delete this SKU and recreate the SKU with the appropriate identity attribute.”
Okay, that seems like a simple solution, even got on a call just to make sure that all I had to do was find the conflicting SKU / ASIN / PRODUCT ID info and delete it. I’ve even uploaded several txt. files clearing out any information this stubborn product may have on all channels, uk. de. fr. etc…
Yet the error persists! Is it possible this is a technical problem? Has anyone had similar experiences that can point me in the right direction?
Its difficult to get Amazon support to understand the situation.
