How Can I Close a Deactivated Account that I can't Reactivate?
Hi everyone,
First of all apologies if this question might come across as trivial, I am brand new to selling on Amazon so don’t have much experience in this.
I have been trying to get my sellers account reactivated for over a month now and have as of yet been unsuccessful. I have repeatedly uploaded the required documents (from what I have read elsewhere in the forum) such as a Utility Bill & Business License but the appeal keeps being rejected and asking for additional information without actually specifying what information is necessary or missing. I have phoned Amazon multiple times now as well but as of yet have been unable to contact anyone in the Seller Center as the only number I can find is for Customer Services, who don’t have a direct number to the Seller Center. Customer services have repeatedly tried to arrange a callback with the Seller Center for me but each time it is cancelled by the Seller Center team as “My account is deactivated” … the whole point of arranging a phone call with them is to figure out why my account is deactivated. Additionally, I am unable to arrange a video call to verify my ownership of the account.
The whole process has left my pretty jaded and now I just want to close the account and try selling somewhere else. Is anyone able to see if there is anything I have missed at all? Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.

…and there lies a problem, because Amazon will not close a deactivated account.
You have to get it activated first and then request it to be closed !

By referring to the thread, I could understand that you are having trouble in getting the account activated.
On that note, did you upload all the documents appropriately for the verification?
Would you share the latest performance notifications so that we will be able to understand the issue accurately?
Also, make sure that the documents meet the below criteria:
display the same information that matches info you use to register to sell on Amazon
be clear and not blurry
be in color
be high-quality and unobstructed
be scanned images, or a photo taken from your mobile device’s camera (no screenshots) display the full document (and front and back, if applicable)
not be expired, revoked, or closed (if applicable)
be in one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish. If it is not in one of these languages, provide a copy of your passport and a notarized translation of your document in one of these languages.
be less than 10MB in size
be in one of these formats: *.png, *.tiff, *.tif, *.jpg, *.jpeg, and *.pdf. Do not include special characters in the file name (examples: $, &, or #)
be authentic and unaltered
Identity Documents:
be a government-issued identity document that is distributed and recognized by the country where you are a citizen or resident
display a name that matches the full name you use(d) to register to sell on Amazon
be in color (black and white not accepted)
for multi-page files (both sides of the ID), if the screen does not ask for separate front and back image uploads, be sure to merge the images into one file to upload
have date of birth (if applicable) that matches the date of birth provided during registration
have a signature
if submitting a passport, be sure the passport has your signature
Proof of Address:
Name and address must be visible.
Could be (your options will display in a drop-down on the page) a water, electricity, gas, internet, telecom bill issued by the utility company, or a mobile phone bill.
If a utility bill for the given address is not under your name, provide a utility bill associated to the address used to register, and any other supporting documents that prove you are operating from that address, even if the bill is not under your name.
Must be issued within the last 90 days.
Also, you have mentioned that you were unable to arrange a video call for completing the verification?
Could you help me understand the reason behind this?
You would have received the steps to arrange a video call in the performance notifications.
Please make sure you follow the steps appropriately and complete the verification
Once your account passes the verification and gets activated, you can request for account closure through this page
