Read onlyI source a organic product from a brand . during listing creation Amazon ask me to provide a certificate ( certificate to sell organic products). How can i apply for the exemption of this certificate . where i have to apply for this ?? please guide.
Hi,
In certain EU countries (and the UK), and under very specific circumstances only, certain businesses may be exempt from certification. If this applies to you, please get a written confirmation from one of the control bodies appointed to make such statements. The list of appointed control bodies is available on the Europa OFIS website. The statement must clearly refer to the online sale of food products, via Amazon warehouses for FBA sellers or via a third-party website for MFN sellers. Amazon cannot accept statements from authorities not listed in the above list.
Suggested template: [The name of the control body] confirms that [your business name] is not required to be certified under EC 834/2007 and EC 889/2008 when [shipping organic foods to Amazon] [listing organic foods on the Amazon websites].
can you please share the screen shoot of the list of appointed control bodies, i tried to find on there website but there not any contact information mentioned.
I sell organic products on Amazon. Even as a reseller you do still have to hold organic certification from a certified body - there is no exemption as you have to prove you are handling the gods correctly, even if you’re only the middle man.
There are different types of certification depending on your situation - manufacturer, reseller etc. Obviously as a reseller it is easier but you still have to jump through some hoops to show you are storing and transporting the goods according to organic procedures. It’s also not cheap and they inspect you every year.
