Barcode labelling is required for Small and Light products that are enrolled in France, Spain and Italy. How will these services benefit me?

Small and Light products enrolled in France, Spain and Italy require an Amazon barcode on each unit. With the FBA Label Service, we can apply an Amazon barcode to your Small and Light products for a €0.09 per-unit fee.

Other prep services that include bagging, bubble-wrapping, taping and opaque-bagging will also be available for your Small and Light products. For more information, refer to FBA Prep Service.

What are the benefits if my products are enrolled in Small and Light in Germany or the UK?

For Small and Light products that are enrolled in Germany and the UK, individual barcodes will be required on each unit as of June 1 to improve the tracking of your items. You can use the FBA Label Service to help with the transition. We can apply an Amazon barcode to your Small and Light products for free. We will announce any changes to the above fees in advance.

Other prep services that include bagging, bubble-wrapping, taping and opaque-bagging will also be available for your Small and Light products. For more information, refer to FBA Prep Service.

So am I being stupid and reading it wrong or are they saying that labelling fba small and light items (uk) is free (for the foreseeable) ?!

#3

UK doesn’t (yet) require labels on S&L - so this service probably isn’t offered here - other EU markets have a barcode requirement. It would be helpful if they did scan the UK ones though, as the majority of our complaints on S&L are miss picked items we don’t sell.

#4

Yes it does - as of June - thats what the thread is about !

#5

Just tried now, service not available for S&L, when they enable it I’ll bet they enable charging for it as well.

#6

no - as it says - its not available until 11th February - next week

It does state though at the moment its free !!??

#7

Amazon always have barcoded all SnL items when they get booked in (but it has not been communicated). I can only assume the fact that there is now the option for SnL outside of the UK that they are charging for this barcode prep. There is always a chance, probably a high one, that they will charge for the service in the UK at some point.

#8

We’ve never barcoded our individual s&l items - only the box

#9

I think they forgot to list it as they gona charge 55p like they do for the rest un uk lol

#10

This is why I asked - sounds too good to be true !

#11

That’s right and the big part of SnL sellers are not required to do it, Amazon barcode once they are booked in.
If you ever do a removal you will see the barcode attached to the item when you get it back.

#12

usually for a totally different item which is why I barcode all mine already lol

#13

It takes an age to get SnL items on sale already, how much will this increase when they do labelling as well. We lost a lot of sales before Christmas with Amazon taking over 4 weeks to receive and list SnL deliveries (and we barcode every item!).

#14

If that is case and they may start charging for it I might start getting my cards printed with the FNSKU on instead of the EAN.

Does anyone know if it is okay to have just the barcode or do they need the text also?

#15

So the top line of Amazon’s spreadsheet is not aligned correctly.
This explains a lot! They can’t even get a simple spreadsheet right!

#16

Its set out properly on the announcement they made on the news pages and it shows its free for UK labelling

#17

We did the same for the first year, but recently have started barcoding every individual item as they dropped a box containing multiple items at the warehouse and then sent multiple wrong items out to customers. we had to get everything returned to sort out the problem

#18

I am getting this correct?

So from tomorrow they launch a label service for SNL for a service which is already being done to our UK SNL stock when we send it to the FC because when stock is returned to us it’s been labelled. This is free of charge in UK.

From 1st June, in UK it is a requirement for all stock to be labelled, which they are already doing. This is a free service in UK for now.

We don’t label our SNL stock, we did it for a few shipments to see if it made the receiving quicker but made no difference. I am thinking that we carry on as before until they start charging for labelling and then we do it ourselves. Anyone else doing this?

#19

Mine is currently printed with my GS1 barcode but I may start printing the FNSKU from my next print job so I know that all new stock will have it on ready for June.

Does anyone have an email for the Small and Light team, please?
