Multiple SKUs in MCF shipment, causes doubling of whole charge?

I have just started using MCF and was surprised to find that when creating a customer order for 2 SKUs from the same variation listing I was charged double the shipping. I expected to be charged extra for the additional picking of the second item, but not for the whole amount to be doubled. Normal charge is £3.15 and I am being charged £6.30 + VAT for a letter sized packet.
Does anyone have any experience of this?

That is how it works - same as FBA.
