Responsible Person dashboard for cosmetics products

#1

I’ve been seeing posts recently about items being marked DEFECTIVE, and one of the reasons might be that the ‘Responsible Person dashboard’ hasn’t been completed.

Can I ask, we sell cosmetics (face creams, cleansers, toners, serums etc), and according to gov.uk CE marking is not required for cosmetics.

Yet, when I look on the Responsible Person dashboard it shows a brand we represent, however there are no ASINs listed.

Is this because they are classified as cosmetics?

From Google

businesses can only sell cosmetic products in the EU when a natural or legal person within the Union is designated as a ‘responsible person’ ; the responsible person must ensure the product meets all the relevant safety requirements under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.

Another seller had one this week for a factor 50 cream , its not just for CE products

Just another point regards the ‘Responsible Person’ as per The Responsible Person dashboard is changing, it says

now available to EU-based sellers and sellers fulfilling their own orders

Does this mean if we fulfill via FBA we are not affected?

no - you are actually more likely to be affected as being FBA you cannot stop sales to NI , whereas FBM you can
