Return Label Charge Adding VAT onto VAT Price when Refunding
So, our customer services have just carried out a refund on an order where we could deduct the value of the return label.
However, it appears when charging this label and doing the deduction, amazon have added VAT onto the £3.35 cost shown. However, I was under the impression that the £3.35 label cost was an inc VAT value. Instead, they’ve deducted £4.02 automatically.
Here is what it looks like in our returns. It states here the return was £18.05, but in the order details, the customer has been refunded £17.38 (ie £21.40 - (£3.35x1.2))
Anyone else picked up this amazon error, sorry, quirk.

yes, I and others have mentioned it before a few times. Amazon are “aware and working on it”. But this has been going on since the label charge started and they have been aware since then.

Thanks both - that was what I was planning on doing - but the consensus is useful!

Thought I’d update - customer has now said…
I am an Amazon Prime customer and I do not have to pay for returns. I had this confirmed today by Amazon Customer Service so please kindly refund the postage.
Yes yes, I know, that is what they were probably told!

I did one yesterday and it came through as £3.35 Inc vat but the customer was refunded £2.64 plus vat which I’m even more confused about
