Spanish resident selling on Amazon UK

#1

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me with my current residency situation. I am a UK Citizen but live in Spain all year and so am a Spanish tax resident. In Spain there is no VAT threshold, the first item I sell I must add VAT (called IVA in Spain).

I will be selling on amazon.co.uk to UK customers and obviously would prefer to take advantage of the UK VAT threshold. Can I set up a UK limited company and legally not pay VAT up to the threshold?

Thanks in advance

No, because you, as beneficial owner, are not tax resident in the UK the company would be considered a non-established taxable person so would need to be VAT registered if you hold any stock in the UK.
