Travel Adapter
hi,
We created a listing for travel adapter under electronics, and our listing was removed by Amazon, saying unsafe product,During listing it does not ask to provide the UKCA and CE certificates. Does anyone has previous experience of listing elecetronic products with Amazon, and what is the correct process to list them, as i undersrtand electronics comes under restricted products category. Any help will be appreciated as Amazon, has not replied to what documents they need to list our product.

Was it moved to the compliance section of your account health page with a cut off date for you to upload the safety docs ?
Whats the asin ?

Just because when listing a product, it doesn’t ask you for certificates, doesn’t mean that they are not required.
Surely you knew this before listing and have the relevant documentation in place?

TBH this happens quite often
Amazon allow you to create the listing then at some point later start asking for various compliance/safety etc documents. Sometimes its quite quick, other times its weeks later
I dont do electronics but I do sell toys and have the similar issue

Are you listing in correct Category?
I know sometimes people list in wrong category to get round the gating process but then it is picked up by bots. Not saying you have but thought it worth checking.

As others have said - post the actual notification
Is it saying your product is unsafe or is it saying it may be unsafe due to not having been bought from a supplier Amazon recognises and that have supplied invoices acceptable to Amazon

Does it have an EAN barcode you are listing under or have you used your own purchased from GS1?
If it has its own EAN, there also may have been safety issues reported of which you are not aware.
If your own EAN, then do the docs you supplied show your business name?
If the docs are in the name of another company, I presume it can only be listed under their brand/company and not your own

Do you have certificate showing compliance to BS8546?

From my experience there are a LOT of dodgy travel adaptors out there, and a huge percentage of those coming out of China do not have the required earth links, meaning that any earthed UK appliance would be unprotected, and hence extremely dangerous to use - sound to me like Amazon are referring to exactly this when they say the item is considered unsafe.
Have you personally inspected the stock, and have you checked that the earthing is correctly addressed ?
If your invoices are from Ali, then you may have further problems, as it is well known there is a lot of fake products and non-compliant products on there, invoices from there are also very often not accepted by Amazon.
Very important points also made by others regarding liability insurance, which you did not not respond to, do you have Business Liability Insurance, and have you told them you are importing goods, if not I would seriously suggest immediately stopping what you are doing and putting these things right, same with compliance on your product, you need to get this one checked to ensure it is safe, regardless of what paperwork you have received from China, with electrical products it is a high risk to safety, and not something you can take lightly. As you have imported from China you have no route to pass a claim up the chain as you would have if you had purchased from a UK wholesaler.

I will check your listing and come back with more details.
For now, I am sharing resources, which can give you a bigger picture:

Hope this helps.
