What to when running low on stock FBA?

So im soon ready to send in my first FBA wholesale shipment. I was just wondering what is the go to process when running low in stock on an item. From what i can see most sellers dont seem to actually run their stock down to zero. Is there a reason for this? what is the desired process, can i pause my sales when running low? thankyou

Frankly it’s a very simple answer, send more stock in!
If your selling your own product and ranking is an issue, then you need to make sure that stock is always there. It really is as simple as that.
You can temporarily close a listing, but all that will achieve, is no sales and loss of rank.

When my FBA stock goes to zero it means I am not managing the stock well enough.

The aim should always be to have stock in place unless you are no longer planning on selling the item.

One of the metrics that Amazon judge you on is your in stock rate. So it is important to keep stock in FBA.

However you also shouldn’t overload FBA with more units than can be sold. There is also an Amazon metric for excess units.

To be honest it does come down to judgement and over time you get better at knowing when and how much to send in. However it is sometimes hard to account for demand changes which may mean you run out of stock or end up with stock not selling.

There is a tab that has inventory planning and this will give you a good idea on what to send and when you should be sending it.

I am selling other brands, not my own listing. And the suppliers do often go out of stock so there won’t be any way I can always remain stocked. Where the go to method. Run out of stock or is there some way I should halt my sales for that item instead?
