Read onlyHi everyone,
I have done a search and read almost all the relevant posts but am still unsure.
Which Royal Mail delivery options are accepted as tracked, for the new, currently Beta tracking metics.
When I select Royal Mail Signed for it says invalid tracking number?
So what are my options with Royal mail, I am posting at the post office so do not have a Royal Mail business account yet.
My choices seem to be: Signed for, recorded delivery, special delivery
I will not be able to send Recorded Delivery for my items if Signed for Delivery is not accepted due to the high cost. I have been using Normal Royal mail and Signed for without any issues for a while now and would prefer to continue doing so.
Any clarification would be helpful
It seems NO one who knows is letting us know the answer to this. I am opening a RM business account to facilitate RM 24 as opposed to sending stamped LLs. I am just hoping it will be an acceptable form of tracking…
Hello
I have just emailed SS asking if Royal Mail Tracked 48 & 24 with signature at order delivery address is enough to protect against A-Z claims from Buyers claiming INR. Will let you know outcome.
I use an express courier with signature & any A-Z claims - minority I must stress - I have won all claims to-date.
None of the Royal Mail tracking is being recognised as valid. I have been corresponding with Amazon for over a month about this.
I have a click and drop account and send some items by Special Delivery and some by 1st class signed for. All the options I use with Royal Mail have tracking, none of it is recognised on the Amazon system.
It’s a known fault I have EVENTUALLY been told. I have had all sorts of issues with it. It is not resolved as far as I know, it requires the technical team to resolve the problem so that the system recognises what is perfectly valid tracking.
They are going to have to resolve it sometime but when, well nobody knows.

Only methods which are fully tracked are acceptable such as Royal Mail Tracked or Special Delivery
Recorded is not as it only has proof of delivery
Amazon want you to use postage that the customer can click on to see where there order is within the system
At sorting office, at delivery office, out for delivery
Recorded only gives the seller peace of mind this will not be enough to win a charge back claim on Amazon
It seems to vary: in our case we are currently not eligible solely because of the tracking rate (all valid in ‘real’ life and showing as delivered, all sent Special and with 100% on time delivery score), no cancellation etc, entered at the point of shipping, and do on. Every few weeks we loose the Premium because of this, then we have to do an action plan ‘get Amazon to correct the score’ springs to mind, it gets passed on to SS, and at some point we become eligible again (tracking rate still low) only to loose it again a week or so later. It is very tedious.
Royal Mail tracked service with signature or Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Delivery service that shows full proof of delivery with signature, consignment number, delivery name, address, postcode, courier name, despatch date etc.
Hope this helps.
I’ve given up on premium delivery.
We had the same and weighed up the amount of hassle that amazon performance team and/or the Royal Mail tracking issue vs the actual benefit.
Dropping it and just listing standard and expedited won.
