Why do Amazon allow customers to return media items that are not faulty
I am getting sick of customers returning CDs when there is nothing wrong with them. I always ask for unsalable items to be returned to me and it’s always the same. The CD has been taken out of the wrapper, undoubtedly copied and then returned.
Distance Selling Regulations returns apply to most products, but there are some goods you can’t return if you simply change your mind, including:
CDs, DVDs or software if you’ve broken the seal on the wrapping. (Taken from Which Consumer Rights)
Why don’t Amazon implement UK law?

Because they want to exceed the customers expectations and get them to come back time and again.
The only realistic option other than putting a “Do not remove” seal on your goods and hope that that deters the returnees is not to send those items to FBA in the first place, otherwise you just have to grin and bear it if the overall result still leaves you in the black.

Unfortunately, if you let your sealed media items to be fulfilled by Amazon, you can expect that they will allow them to be returned used and unsealed with a full refund.
In case that they would be FBM, you would be able to deduct the cost of loss of value out of the refund or refuse to issue a refund at all.
