Process for flagging bladed products

For existing ASINs on Amazon.co.uk, please check to see if the ASINs are already flagged. Check there is an "over-18 knife" warning on the detail page. To go to the Amazon Detail page for a particular listing, click on the ASIN or listing ID in your Manage Inventory page. Once you get to the page, check for the "over-18 knife" flag (see below for example of flag). If the ASIN is already flagged, there is no need to follow the process below. If you need to update an existing ASIN with the flag or create a new ASIN with the flag, please ensure that you follow the manual process (under A) or the bulk flat file process (under B) as outlined below.

A: Manually Flagging ASINs: Please follow this process for updating existing ASINs with the knife flag)

If the customer_restriction_type attribute is not available in the drop-down menu in Step 4 please revert to process B: Flagging ASINs in bulk through Flat Files.

  • Step 1: Go to Manage inventory of your Seller Central account.
  • Step 2: Click Edit.
  • Step 3: Click More Details tab at the top.
  • Step 4: Under customer_restriction_type select uk_18_knife from the drop-down menu.
  • Step 5: Click Save and Finish.

B: Flagging ASINs in bulk through Flat Files: Please follow this process for either updating existing ASINs with the knife flag or creating new ASINs with the knife flag)

  • Step 1: Under Inventory, click Add Products Via Upload.
  • Step 2: In the new version of Seller Central, under File Name, click Category-specific inventory files or in the old version of Seller Central, click Download Template.
  • Step 3: Select the correct Inventory File Template depending on the product you are listing.
  • Step 4: Open the relevant Inventory File Template depending on the product you are listing.
  • Step 5: Enable Editing in the Inventory File Template.
  • Step 6: Scroll to the Template Sheet in the Inventory File Template.
  • Step 7: If you are creating a new ASIN: Fill in the mandatory columns in the Template Sheet of the relevant Inventory File Template. For example, for Home, the mandatory columns are: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, K, L, M, N, AU, AV, BR, HO.

    If you are updating an already existing ASIN: Please fill in SKU, external_product_id_type (ASIN or EAN), Update_delete (select: Partial Update), and customer_restriction_type (select uk_18_knife).

    If you are uploading a file for another category, please verify the mandatory columns and the location of the customer_restriction_type column in the file.

  • Step 8: For each product, select the uk_18_knife flag in the customer_restriction_type column in the Template Sheet of the relevant Inventory file. For example, in Home, select uk_18_knife in the HO column.
  • Step 9: Save the Inventory File template as Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt).
  • Step 10: In the Upload inventory files section, select Inventory Files for non-Media categories.
  • Step 11: Browse to your Inventory File Template.
  • Step 12: Click Upload.
