Global Shipping Services

Global Shipping Services helps you send your FBA inventory to Amazon fulfilment centres worldwide. You can ship from China to the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain via ocean (full-container and less-than-container loads) and air. The programme also offers shipping to the US.

To use Global Shipping Services, create an FBA shipment as usual. Then book international transportation by generating cross-border documentation and paying for customs, duties and related charges. You can track your shipment from its origin until it arrives at a fulfilment centre.

For more information, see these Help topics:

How to get started

Create a Global Shipping Services profile by following the steps below. This will be your shipping account for imports into the US. (If you already have an account with Amazon’s Global Logistics, set up your profile by linking to that account.)

  1. Choose a payment method.
  2. Set up an importer of record (IOR) or declarant, who will facilitate customs clearance.

IORs for imports into the EU, also called ‘declarants’, must be registered with EU customs authorities and have a valid Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number. When booking transportation with Global Shipping Services, you will also be asked to provide additional contacts for your shipment.

For step-by-step instructions on creating a profile, download Using Global Shipping Services in Seller Central in English.

After creating your profile, you can book transportation within three to five business days by using the Send/Replenish Inventory workflow.

Air and ocean shipping

You can ship using air or ocean freight via Global Shipping Services. For ocean, you can choose either full-container load (FCL) or less-than-container load (LCL).

When you create an FBA shipment, the Ship from location will show the available shipping modes. Make sure to confirm that you want to ship with Global Shipping Services. Once you confirm, complete your freight booking on the Book Transportation page.

Rates and typical transit times

Transit times vary by origin, destination and shipping mode (ocean or air). Below are estimates for the receipt of the cargo at the point of origin to delivery at the destination fulfilment centre. These estimates also account for customs clearance.
