FBA Shipping Programmes and Export policy


The information on this page that relates to Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) applies to those who sell in the UK . To list and sell your products in any of our other stores, go to Amazon Global Selling.

FBA Shipping Programmes and Export (‘FBA Export’) allows you to fulfil orders of eligible products on to a postal address that is not within the UK. With this programme, you can expand your business to more than 80 countries without dealing with the complexities of selling internationally, at no additional cost or effort for you.

By participating in FBA Export, you agree to the programme’s terms and conditions.

FBA Export enrolment

FBA Shipping Programmes and Export offers the following two options:

  • Disabled: Only customers with postal addresses in the UK can order your FBA products.
  • Worldwide: Customers with postal addresses in more than 80 countries, including the European Union, can order your FBA products.

Your seller account is automatically enrolled in Worldwide, unless you disable this programme.

By enrolling in Worldwide FBA Export, you authorise Amazon and its affiliates to export goods from the UK (including sign a commercial invoice) on your behalf, as required. This commercial invoice will itemise and describe the contents of the dispatch, and authorise brokers and other third parties to execute additional documents necessary for the export of your products.

Certain items are controlled for export under the laws of the U.S., the UK, the European Union and Individual European Union Member States, and cannot be listed for FBA Export.

Items typically cannot be listed for FBA Export for the following reasons:

  • Has a specific military use
  • Has a dual civilian and military use
  • Contains or is made from endangered or protected species
  • Can be used for repression or torture
  • Has cultural significance
  • Contains substances that damage the environment or ozone layer

How to edit your FBA Export settings

FBA Export settings are store specific. To edit your FBA Export settings, take the following steps in Seller Central:

  1. Under the Settings drop-down menu, select Fulfilment by Amazon.
  2. Scroll down to Shipping programmes and export settings, and click on Edit.
On this page, you can change your settings to discontinue the export of your FBA products at any time or exclude an ASIN from this programme.

Check for Export-eligible products

To view a list of products from your FBA inventory that are eligible for FBA Export, take the following steps:

  1. In the Reports drop-down menu, select Fulfilment by Amazon.
  2. Under Inventory, click on Show more to access the Exportable Inventory report.

You can view the list, even if you have FBA Export disabled. We update this report regularly, so check back for exportable products.

The Exportable Inventory report helps you identify your products that are eligible for FBA Export, fulfil your international orders, handle import duty and customs clearance where applicable, and dispatch your product to the international buyer’s address.

The following statuses will appear in the report for products that are restricted from international delivery or that are pending review:

  • ASINs that cannot be dispatched cross-border (Ineligible exportability status): To view products that are excluded from FBA Export, go to FBA prohibited products.
  • ASINs not yet processed (Un-addressable exportability status): These are items that are pending review to determine eligibility. We process new ASINs for eligibility once a month. Ensure that your product contains either a full product description or bullet point to ensure that it is processed for eligibility in the next cycle.

Exclude products or countries from FBA Export

If you have concerns that distribution agreements might limit where your products can be sold overseas, you can opt out of FBA Export, exclude certain products from the programme or exclude countries and destinations from export.

To exclude an ASIN from this programme, go to the Shipping programmes and export settings page. On this page, you can also exclude all of your products from being exportable to any country.

FBA Export sales report

To view a sales report for your FBA exports, do the following:

  1. In the Reports drop-down menu, select Fulfilment by Amazon.
  2. On the left side of the page under Sales, click on Amazon Fulfilled Shipments.

To view your international orders, you can filter the report by the dispatch-to destination country.

For API Sellers, the enumeration value is _GET_AMAZON_FULFILLED_SHIPMENTS_DATA_.

International Multi-Channel Fulfilment orders

Multi-Channel Fulfilment orders can be exported to European countries that are supported by FBA. Worldwide export orders, including Media products, are not supported by Multi-Channel Fulfilment orders. For international Multi-Channel Fulfilment orders, you must identify the destination country when you submit the order.

The online Multi-Channel Fulfilment Order form has a drop-down menu listing the countries available for FBA Export. For a list of countries supported by Amazon, go to Which country/countries can I deliver my products to?

  • International customers can visit your home store and shop for products eligible for international delivery.
  • Amazon fulfils your international orders and dispatches your product to the international customer’s address.
  • International customers pay for international delivery. This is at no extra cost to you.
  • You can determine what products you want to exclude from the international delivery in addition to Amazon-provided eligibility check.

When processing customer returns for units fulfilled via FBA export, Amazon’s FBA Return Policy is used to determine whether a unit is eligible to be returned. You do not pay any shipping cost for FBA Export customer returns.

International returns for FBA Export

With FBA Export, Amazon provides fulfilment and customer service for your orders, including processing buyer returns. We use Amazon’s return policies to determine whether a unit is eligible to be returned. However, to ensure a good buyer experience, we will make case-by-case exceptions and accept returns for units fulfilled through FBA that may be past the stated return timeframe. You do not pay any shipping costs for FBA Export customer returns.

When a buyer returns a product, the standard Amazon returns policy will be followed. If the returned product is received in sellable condition, it will be returned to the original seller’s inventory. If the returned product is not in sellable condition, we will determine who is at fault (Amazon or the buyer) and provide reimbursement according to the FBA lost and damaged inventory reimbursement policy.

The buyer must pay the return shipping costs if there is no product defect. If there is a product defect, the buyer pays and ships the product back to Amazon’s warehouse. We will compensate the buyer for the actual return shipping cost when the parcel is received. You do not pay any shipping costs for FBA Export customer returns.

Which countries can I send my products to?

Your products can be exported to the following EU countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Croatia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.

If I sign up for FBA Export, will my FBA products be listed for sale on other Amazon stores?

No. Your FBA products will only be available for sale on the Amazon stores on which you have listed your products.

What are my tax obligations under FBA Export?

You are solely responsible for the calculation, invoicing, reporting and payment of all duties, taxes, surveys or other deductions, as well as any necessary Intrastat declarations. If you are unsure of your VAT obligations, we strongly recommend that you verify the implications of these obligations with your local tax office or contact your tax adviser.

I am currently using the Pan-European FBA programme or European Fulfilment Network (EFN) to offer my products in Europe. Should I enable FBA Export?

Yes. Once you’ve enabled FBA Export, international customers and customers outside of Amazon stores will be able to shop and purchase your eligible products from
