Manage your Royal Mail account

You can buy and track all of your Seller-Fulfilled Prime and non-Prime Delivery directly through Buy Shipping with your own agreed rates for Royal Mail.

Note:

Link your carrier account

You can manage your carrier accounts in Buy Shipping preferences. Before linking a carrier account, update the following:

  • List your current email address and phone number under Manage your ships-from locations.
  • In the Carrier prioritisation section, ensure that the carrier for your linked account is listed as one of the prioritised carriers.
  • Confirm you have accepted all Buy Shipping terms and conditions, as well as those of your carrier.

Link your Royal Mail account

Note: For Seller-Fulfilled Prime orders, Royal Mail Delivery labels will be available through Buy Shipping only if you link a Royal Mail Account with access to Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services. If you do not have access to these services yet, please contact Royal Mail directly to have them set up on your account before proceeding to account linking.

To link your Royal Mail account:

  1. Ensure that Royal Mail is selected as one of your preferred carriers in Buy Shipping preferences.
  2. Go to Buy Shipping preferences, click on Manage your carrier accounts and enter the following information exactly as it appears on your Royal Mail invoice.
    • Royal Mail Account Number

      This is your Royal Mail account ID and it is a 10-digit number usually starting with ‘0’. You can find this in your Royal Mail online business account (OBA) > navigate to User details where Account number is displayed or refer to a recent monthly invoice. If you are unsure, please contact Royal Mail directly.

    • Business name registered with Royal Mail

      This is your Company’s Legal Name and the same name used for your Royal Mail account.

    • Posting Location ID

      This is a 10-digit number usually starting with ‘9000XXXXXX’.

      You can find this on your Royal Mail OBA (Online Business Account). Log into your Royal Mail OBA, click on the ‘Orders’ tab and search for any ‘Completed’ orders. You can then reprint any order, which shows the posting location in the left hand corner of the paperwork underneath the cruciform and ‘Your Description’. If you are unsure, please contact Royal Mail directly.

    • Seller Address Line 1
    • Seller Address Line 2
    • Postcode (this must match your Royal Mail billing address)

      You can find this on a recent Royal Mail invoice.

    • Phone Number 1
    • Phone Number 2 (if applicable)
    • Email
  3. Click Submit to link your Royal Mail carrier account.

    Once you have successfully submitted the account linking form, your Account Status will display Pending on the Manage your Carrier accounts page. If the information you have provided matches your Royal Mail account details and you have Tracked services enabled on your Royal Mail account, the Account Status will turn to Active within 1-2 business days. Your Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services will now be available in Buy Shipping.

To unlink your account:
  1. Go to Buy Shipping preferences.
  2. Click on Manage your carrier accounts.
  3. Click Unlink.
The status will change to Not linked.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my account after I submit my information? How long does it take to link the account?

Your account information is submitted to Royal Mail. If the information you have provided matches with the records on your Royal Mail account and you have tracked services enabled, your rates for Tracked24 and Tracked48 services will appear in Buy Shipping services within 1-2 days. If your rates do not appear in two business days, please contact Royal Mail to confirm your account details and that the tracked services are enabled on your account.

Once your Royal Mail account is active, the Account Status will display the below message.

I keep receiving the following error message – ‘Please fix the errors below and submit. For help completing the registration form, please refer to the ‘Manage your Royal Mail account’ help page’. What do I do?

This error message occurs because your Account Number is invalid. Your Account Number is a 10-digit number and usually starts with ‘0’. If your Account Number is 9 digits and does not start with ‘0’, please prefix a ‘0’ to your Account Number and re-submit.

I keep receiving the following error message ‘We are currently unable to link your Account’. What do I do?

Please contact Royal Mail to confirm that your Royal Mail Account Number, Postcode and Posting Location ID are correct. When submitting the form, please ensure that all mandatory fields are completed, verify that there is a space between the first and second part of your postcode and you have removed all spaces in the phone number. If you are still unable to link your Royal Mail account, Contact us.

My Account Status has been stuck in ‘Pending’ and the Shipping services are not appearing in Buy Shipping. What do I do?

Please wait at least two days for account linking to complete. If the status is ‘Pending’ for longer than two days, please contact Royal Mail to ensure the Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services are activated on your account. If you had the Tracked services added to your account previously but they have not been used recently, it could be that the prices have expired. We will not be able to link your account unless these services are active. Once the services have been activated on your account, and provided that the information you have submitted matches with the records on the account, the Account Status will update to ‘Active’ in 1-2 days. If you have confirmation from Royal Mail that the services are active and we are still unable to link your accounts, please Contact Us.

How can I get Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services added to my Royal Mail account?

Please email Royal Mail directly via Royal.Mail.Amazon.In@royalmail.com to have the services added to your account. When emailing, please include your Royal Mail account number, name and contact number.

I have added the Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services to my account previously but I think my pricing has expired. How do I resolve this?

Please contact your Royal Mail Account Manager or call Royal Mail on 08457 950950 who will help you to resolve the issue.

I have successfully linked my Royal Mail account and my Account Status is ‘Active’, but the rates for Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 in Buy Shipping do not match my Royal Mail contracted rates. What do I do?

Please contact your Royal Mail Account Manager or call Royal Mail on 08457 950950 who will help you to resolve the issue.

What Royal Mail services will be linked to Buy Shipping?

Once your Royal Mail account is linked to Buy Shipping, you will be able to purchase Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services at your contracted rates.
