Order fulfilment settings

The Order Fulfilment Settings page allows you to define the operating days, pick-up time, and order cut-off times for your products. You will need to review and edit your Order Fulfilment Settings for both Prime and non-Prime products. The settings defined on this page will influence the Delivery Promise shown to customers, as well as the date you are expected to ship your orders.

The Order Fulfilment settings feature has two sections: General Fulfilment settings and Automated Fulfilment settings. The General Fulfilment settings. The General Fulfilment settings section will apply to your non-Prime Standard and Premium shipping orders. The Automated Fulfilment settings section will apply to your Prime orders.

General Fulfilment settings (Standard and Premium shipping)

General Fulfilment settings are used by Amazon to determine the delivery promise for your non-Prime Standard and Premium shipping orders.

Note: Settings configured under General Fulfilment settings will be applied to all non-Prime orders. This includes Standard and Premium (1-day and 2-day) shipping. Use General Fulfilment settings to configure order cut-off times and operating days for your non-Prime products.

Automated Fulfillment settings (Seller Fulfilled Prime)

Automated Fulfilment settings are used by Amazon to determine the delivery promise for your Prime orders and when your delivery regions (also known as shipping regions) are configured based on your shipping service preferences. If you have enabled Shipping settings automation on your Prime shipping templates, you will be able to customize your fulfilment settings by day of the week and for each of your preferred shipping services. Amazon will use these settings to calculate the Expected Ship date and Promise Delivery date for Prime products enabled with Shipping settings automation.

Note: Automated Fulfilment settings will only be visible if you are enrolled in Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP).

Pick-up times, order cut-off times, and operating days

You can view and edit your operating days, pick-up time, and order cut-off times under Order Fulfillment settings. These can be configured for both the General Fulfillment settings and Automated Fulfillment settings.

Operating Days

Monday through Friday are considered mandatory operating days. For Prime offers, weekend operation is mandatory, and you can choose either Saturday or Sunday as an operating day to make a six-day working week. For non-Prime offers, weekend operation is optional. When turned on, these days will be considered towards the calculation of the Estimated Ship Date, that is, you will be required to ship out orders on Saturday and Sunday (except holidays).

To enable weekends as an operating day for your non-Prime Standard and Premium shipping:

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings and click Shipping Settings
  2. Under General Shipping Settings, identify the Order Fulfillment Settings section and click Edit
  3. Navigate to Weekend Operations under General Fulfilment Settings.
  4. For both Saturday and Sunday, you can choose one of the two options from the drop-down box:
    • No Pick-up: if you do not operate on that day
    • Non-Prime offers only: if you operate on weekends for Standard and Premium shipping orders
  5. Review and save your changes.
Note: Turning on Saturday or a Sunday or both days, as an operational day under General Fulfillment settings for non-Prime Standard and Premium shipping is optional.

To enable weekends as an operating day for Prime offers:

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings and click Shipping Settings.
  2. Under General Shipping Settings, identify Order Fulfillment Settings and click Edit.
  3. Navigate to Weekend Operations under Automated Fulfilment Settings.
  4. For both Saturday and Sunday, you can choose one of the two options from the drop-down box:
    • No Pick-up: if you do not operate on that day (however, you cannot choose No Pick-up for both Saturday and Sunday).
    • Prime offers only: if you operate on weekends.
  5. Review all changes under Order Fulfillment Settings and save your changes.
Note:
  • Enabling weekend operation is mandatory for Prime offers; you can choose either Saturday or Sunday for operation. It is optional to operate both Saturday and Sunday.
  • If weekend operations are turned on, these days will be counted towards your Expected Ship Date.

Carrier pick-up times and order cut-off times

Order cut-off times are used to determine the Estimated Ship Date for products. Orders received before your set order cut-off time will have a ship date of the current day, while orders after the order cut-off time are expected to ship the next business day.

For non-Prime Standard and Premium shipping, the order cut-off time defined under General Fulfilment Settings is used. You are required to have a minimum weekday order cut-off time of 2:00 p.m. local time. You cannot set an order cut-off time prior to 2:00 p.m. local time. Order cut-off time is not applicable for Standard Shipping.

Note: The default cut-off times for the non-Prime Premium shipping where you are required to ship the same day is 2:00 p.m. local time. The order cut-off time you set will be the same for all operating days.

In order to modify order cut-off times for General Fulfillment Settings:

  1. On Seller Central, go to Settings and click Shipping Settings.
  2. Under General Shipping Settings dashboard, identify the Order Fulfillment Settings section.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Under General Shipping Settings, look for Order Cut-off Times.
  5. Set the desired order cut-off time for each Premium Ship option (1-day, 2-day delivery).
  6. Save your settings and review on the General Shipping Settings dashboard.

For Prime offers, the order cut-off times defined under Automated Fulfilment Settings are used. You may set pick-up times and order cut-off times for each day of the week for the shipping services you use (including weekends). The order cut-off time will be automatically set to 30 minutes before pick-up time.

You are required to have a minimum weekday pick-up time of 4:30pm, which will set your order cut-off time to 4:00 pm. You cannot set a pick-up time prior to 4:30pm. On weekends, you will have the option to set pick-up time to be as early as 12:00pm which will set your weekend order cut-off time to 11:30 p.m. If you want to change pickup time, you must ensure that you have agreed this with your shipping service in advance.

Note: The order cut-off times under Automated Fulfilment Settings must be equal to or later than the cut-off time defined under General Fulfillment Settings.

To create or modify your pickup times by shipping service and by day of week:

  1. In Seller Central go to Settings and click Shipping Settings.
  2. Under General Shipping Settings, identify the Order Fulfillment Settings section and click Edit
  3. Navigate to Automated Fulfilment Settings.
  4. Set your carrier pick-up time and order cut-off time for each shipping service.
  5. Select the “Set by days” option if the pick-up time and order cut-off time for the shipping services vary by different days of the week. If not, select the “Set by week” option to have the same pick-up and cut-off time for the whole week.
  6. If you have enabled Saturday and/or Sunday as an operating day, set your carrier pick-up times and order cut-off times for these days.
  7. Click save and review your selection on the General Shipping Settings dashboard.
Tip: Setting a later cut-off time allows you to show the customer a faster delivery promise for a longer period of time.
Important:
  1. The pick-up time and order cut-off time settings are captured and set at an account level in Shipping Settings.
  2. Default and earliest pick-up time in the UK is set by Amazon to 4.30 pm for weekdays and 12:00pm for weekends and cannot be later than 11.30 pm local time.
  3. Give yourself enough time to pick, pack, and ship your orders. The last pick-up time for each shipping service will impact the availability of the shipping service when you proceed to purchase a shipping label on Buy Shipping Services. You may not see your preferred shipping services on Buy Shipping if the label purchase time is less than 30 mins from the last carrier pick-up time defined by you.Label purchase cut-off time is set to order cut-off time.
