Build International Listings Price synchronisation: You can synchronise the List price or List price and sale price from your source marketplace to your target marketplaces. The price rule and currency exchange rate will be applied to the source marketplace price to determine the target marketplace price. The same method will be used to calculate the list price and sale price. If you change the price of an offer that is inactive in the source marketplace, the price will be updated in the target marketplace.
A sale price in the source marketplace will initiate a sale in the target marketplace. The sale price is only synchronised during the defined sale period. The sale price stops synchronising when the sale period is complete or you remove the sale price from the source marketplace.
Price my offers: You can set up a price rule for each target marketplace and fulfilment method from the options shown in the tables below. If the target marketplace has a different currency than the source marketplace, the tool will convert the price based on exchange rates. After you connect source and target marketplaces, prices in the target marketplace are updated periodically to reflect exchange rate changes. The frequency of these updates might vary from daily to weekly.
Marketplace price rules apply to your entire inventory for the target marketplace and fulfilment method combination. Marketplace price rules cannot be set for individual ASINs or SKUs.
Price rule example: For a source marketplace, you have a price of 10 and the currency exchange rate is 1 = 1.1262.
Price rule options | You enter or select: | Price in the source marketplace | Price calculation | Price in target marketplace |
---|---|---|---|---|
Same as the source marketplace price | 10 | 10 x 1.1262 | 11.26 | |
Fixed amount above the source marketplace price | 1 | 10 | (10 + 1) x 1.1262 | 12.39 |
Percentage above the source marketplace price | + 5% | 10 | (10 x 1.05) x 1.1262 | 11.83 |
Percentage below the source marketplace price | - 5% | 10 | (10 x 0.95) x 1.1262 | 10.70 |
Remote Fulfilment with FBA price rule: The ‘same as the source marketplace, adjust for fulfilment fees’ pricing rule applies only to inventory in the Remote Fulfilment with FBA programme. Once enabled, the price rule will let you automatically adjust prices to account for the fulfilment fee and currency difference between the source and target marketplaces. If you use Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers (ACCS) to receive your royalties in your local currency, then the currency difference will be based on the rate used in ACCS at the time of price calculation. Note that the currency conversion rate used in BIL can differ from the rate used during actual disbursement.
European FBA price rule: The ‘same as the source marketplace, adjust for taxes and fees’ pricing rule applies only to European FBA inventory, and you can choose to apply it either a) only to Pan-European FBA inventory, b) all European FBA inventory or c) all European FBA inventory excluding Pan-European FBA inventory. Once enabled, the price rule will allow you to automatically adjust prices to account for the fulfilment fee, estimated VAT and currency difference between the source and target marketplaces. If you use Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers (ACCS) to receive your royalties in your local currency, then the currency difference will be based on the rate used in ACCS at the time of price calculation. Note that the currency conversion rate used in BIL can differ from the rate used during actual disbursement.
Pan-European FBA price rule: The ‘source price + fulfilment fee adjustment’ pricing rule applies only to Pan-European FBA inventory. Once enabled, the price rule lets you automatically adjust prices to account for the fulfilment fee difference between the source and target marketplaces.
Pan-European FBA price rule example: For a source marketplace, you have a price of 10 and the currency exchange rate is 1 = 1.1262. The FBA fulfilment fee in the source marketplace is 1, and the FBA fulfilment fee in the target marketplace is 2. The VAT rate in the source marketplace is 20%, and the VAT rate in the target marketplace is 19%.
Price in source marketplace | FBA fulfilment fee in source | VAT rate in source marketplace | FBA fulfilment fee in target marketplace | VAT rate in target marketplace | Price calculation | Price in target marketplace |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
10 | 1 | 20% | 2 | 19% | ((((10/(1+0.2))–1)x1.262)+2)x(1+.19) | 12.21 |
Amazon’s Build International Listings tool (BIL) will only perform a VAT estimation for the purposes of helping sellers to determine the VAT element in the list price for their listings in Amazon EU marketplaces where the Pan-European FBA price rule is available. It is important to note that BIL will not perform transaction-related VAT calculations, nor will it create invoices for your Amazon transactions. For VCS-activated sellers, please verify any potentially conflicting pricing methodology settings which you have agreed separately when signing up to VCS.
BIL will estimate the VAT element in the list price according to the VAT rate in the respective marketplace country. For VCS-activated sellers, VAT determination will also be based on the seller’s determined Product Tax Code (PTC) settings. BIL will always take the VAT inclusive list price as the basis for VAT estimation and will assume that VAT is due in the target marketplace country. BIL will also make the assumption that the seller is duly VAT registered in the target marketplace country. In its calculation estimation, BIL will therefore not take into account the specific circumstances of the seller in the target marketplace country, such as (but not limited to) the following:
*Therefore, it is important to note that the BIL estimated VAT element in the list price might differ from the actual VAT liability you will have with respect to the sale of the listed products on the marketplace.
