Notification preferences

Notification preferences allow you to indicate how you would like to receive notifications and alerts about your seller account.

To set these preferences, do the following:

  1. From your seller account, select Settings, then select Notification Preferences.
  2. On the Notification Options tab, review your email settings.
  3. To update or add an email address, click Edit for each type of notification.
  4. Update or add your email address, select which notifications you want to enable, and click Save.

Email delivery failure

On your seller account homepage, there is an alert box. This alert notifies you of any delivery failures with your email notifications. Email delivery can fail because your inbox is full or your Internet service provider failed to deliver the notification.

If you receive an alert, go to Notification Preferences to reset your delivery preferences, and then follow up with your Internet service provider for any technical issues.

Notification types

The types of notifications available to you depends on your selling plan. The following list contains all of the available notification types, regardless of the type of selling plan you have:

  • Order Notifications: Alert you when you receive an order. You can also enable alerts for Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) orders and inbound shipments.
  • Returns and Claims Notifications: Notify you when you receive a return request for a seller-fulfilled order or when a buyer has disputed a charge
  • Listing Notifications: Confirm when a listing is created or closed
  • Reports: Alert you when a scheduled report is available. You can select four different reports: Open listings reports, order fulfilment reports, reports of listings sold and reports of cancelled listings
  • Amazon Selling Coach Notifications: Contain a variety of recommendations. Learn more about Amazon Selling Coach
  • Account Notifications: Business and technical alerts on issues that can affect your business, such as periodic tips about new features, schedule changes or outages, and more.
  • Emergency Notifications: During large-scale events that might impact orders or shipments, we need to ensure we have a reliable and accurate Emergency Contact phone number so that we can contact you quickly. This phone number will not be visible to buyers and can be different from the other phone number(s) on file for your seller account.

To confirm which notification types are available to you, go to Notification Preferences.

Notification Preferences allow you to indicate how you would like to receive notifications and alerts about your seller account.

To set your notification preferences, follow these steps:

  1. In the Settings area of your seller account, select Notification Preferences.
  2. On the Notifications Options page, click the Edit button.
  3. For each notification type, enter an email address or several email addresses.
    • Order Notifications allows you to choose whether or not you would like to receive the notifications. If you select Enabled, you will receive an email for each order. If you select Disabled, you will not receive Order Notification emails.
    • Amazon Selling Coach allows you to choose which types of notifications you will receive. Tick a box to receive the corresponding notification.
    • Technical Preferences accepts the email address of a pager that is text messaging capable.
  4. Click Update to save your changes.

Email Delivery Failure

On your seller account home page, we have placed an alert box to notify you if delivery of your email notifications fails. If you receive an alert, visit Notification Preferences to reset your delivery preferences. Your email delivery may have failed because your inbox is full or because your provider failed to deliver the notification. In that case, please confirm that you have entered the correct email address in Notification Preferences and then contact your Internet service provider to ask about technical issues.

  • Order Notifications: Notifies you via email or text message when you receive an order or return request. You also can enable alerts for FBA orders and inbound shipments.
    • Claims Notifications: Alerts you when a buyer is disputing a charge.
    • Returns Notifications: Notifies you via email when you receive a return request.
  • Listing Notifications: Confirms via e-mail when a listing is created or closed.
  • Report Notifications: Lets you know when a scheduled report is available. Choose from four different reports: open listings, order fulfillment, sold listings, and cancelled listings.

  • Other Notifications:
    • Business Updates: Provides periodic tips about new features, promotion opportunities, selling ideas, and more.
    • Technical Notifications: Gives advance notice of scheduled changes or interruptions that may have affect your operations.
    • Emergency Contact: Seller Support may contact you in emergency situations that may affect your account. This phone number will not be shown on your seller profile.

Notification Preferences allow you to indicate how you would like to receive notifications and alerts about your seller account.

E-mail Delivery Failure
