FAQ - What if I could not respond to the customer because of holidays or other absences?

You are responsible for authorizing return requests and responding to messages from buyers, as applicable, within 48 hours, even if you have temporarily stopped selling. You will still receive notifications to Authorise, Close (i.e. reject), or Reply to Return Requests.

For more information, go to Set your return preferences , Communicate with buyers using Buyer-Seller Messages , and Listing status for vacations, holidays, and other absences .

Note: If you plan to temporarily stop selling (for example, because you’re going on vacation or have a family emergency), please ensure to update your account settings in advance by changing the listings to Inactive. You can also have Amazon automatically authorise Return Requests on your behalf if you wish.
