(Re-) Enabling Pan-European offers

The Build International Listings tool helps you create and update offers from one source marketplace to one or more target marketplaces. You save time and effort by managing offers in one marketplace. However, sometimes, the tool cannot activate your offers for certain reasons.

This page will help identify some of the reasons for your inactive offers and provide solutions for them. You can also identify these issues at an SKU level by generating and downloading a status report for each target marketplace in the Build International Listings tool.

Note: Always make sure that you wait for 24 hours for the listings to (re-)sync before you start editing them.

Reconnect disconnected offers in a target marketplace

Your offers became disconnected and cannot be automatically activated via the Build International Listings tool. This could be because your offer was overwritten due to manual price changes or an automated pricing tool that disturbed the connection.

To check your ASINs, go to Seller Central > Inventory > Pan-European FBA Inventory.

To reconnect offers in a target marketplace, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Sell Globally.
  2. Go to the Build International Listings tab.
  3. Click Exclusions Edit on the right-hand side of the page.
  4. Select the target marketplaces that you want to reconnect an offer to from the list on the left-hand side of the page. A list of SKUs available to reconnect is displayed.
  5. To find a specific SKU quickly, enter the SKU of the product for the offer that you want to reconnect in the search field. In the column Exclusion method, you will see the reason why this SKU was excluded (for example, Overwrite).
  6. Select the tickbox corresponding to each SKU that you want to reconnect.
  7. Click Action on selected and select Reconnect offers.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Click Inventory and select Manage Inventory from the drop-down menu.
  10. At the top of the page, select Inactive.
  11. Enter the SKU of the product in the search field for the offer that you want to relist.
  12. Click Relist corresponding to the SKU.

Only self-fulfilled offers were connected and synchronised in the target marketplace

If you select only self-fulfilled offers in the Build International Listings tool to be connected and synchronised in your target marketplaces, your FBA offers will be inactive in the target marketplaces.

To activate self-fulfilled offers, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Sell Globally.
  2. Go to the Build International Listings tab.
  3. Click Edit Connection on the right-hand side of the page.
  4. Select all the target marketplaces for which you want to activate your FBA offers.
  5. Change the Fulfilment method to FBA and Self-fulfilled. If applicable, adjust the pricing rule on FBA offers in the next step.

The Build International Listings tool will now automatically enrol your offers. This might take a couple of hours to be displayed.

Listings cannot be connected for legal or product-compliance reasons

Customers trust that they can always buy with confidence on Amazon. Products offered for sale on Amazon must comply with all laws and regulations and with Amazon’s policies for the marketplace that you are listing in. Before listing your products on Amazon, you must carefully review the Restricted Products policy page. Note:

Note: Make sure that you select the correct marketplace for which you would like to review the restrictions.

If you think that your product has been removed in error, contact Selling Partner Support in order to get the restriction reviewed.

Inactive offer in the source marketplace

Your offers cannot automatically be activated because the offer is inactive in the source marketplace. This means that your ASIN will not be enrolled in Pan-European FBA.

You can check whether this is the case by searching for your ASIN in the search field of the Build International Listings tool. If you see the following reason code: An offer is not active in the source marketplace, it means that the offer is not active in other marketplaces and won’t be enrolled in Pan-European FBA although the ASIN is eligible. This is possible even if the ASIN has an inventory of more than 1 unit and a price has been entered.

To automatically enrol your offer, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory of the source marketplace.
  2. Search for the ASIN that is inactive.
  3. Edit the ASIN manually and Save.
  4. Relist the offer.

The Build International Listings tool will now automatically enrol your offer. Note that this might take a couple of hours to be activated.

The ASIN does not exist in the target marketplace

You cannot activate the offer in the target marketplace because the ASIN does not exist and needs to be created in the relevant language first.

To create the ASIN, follow these steps

  1. Go to the Seller Central page of the Amazon marketplace for which you want to create the ASIN.
  2. Click Add a Product and upload the product in the language of the target marketplace.
Note: External translation providers can help if you don’t speak the language of the Amazon marketplace where you want to sell. Refer to the Amazon Service Provider Network help page for more information.
  3. Go to the Build International Listings tool and refresh the connection by following the steps and saving your settings in order to automatically activate the offer in the target marketplace.

The product requires Amazon approval to be activated

You have to request approval to sell products with listing limitations.

To request approval, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory.
  2. Search for the product that you want to sell.
  3. In the search results, click Listing limitations apply against the corresponding product.
  4. Click Request approval to begin the application process. The Request approval button will provide the application requirements and instructions on how to provide the requested information.
  5. Submit the application. Within a few days, our Selling Partner Support Applications team will either approve the application or get in touch for more information.

To check the status of an application, return to Add a Product and select To manage your selling applications click here.

Or you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory.
  2. Click Inactive.
  3. Filter by Inactive reason and select Approval Required.
  4. Click Request Approval next to your listings.

If you want to sell a product that is not currently offered on Amazon but requires approval, first create the product. Once the product has been created, it will be put under the inactive status on the Manage Inventory page. Click Edit and apply to list the product.

The SKU has some missing or incomplete attributes

Your offers cannot be automatically activated if the SKU has missing or incomplete attributes.

Check the SKUs in your source marketplace for missing attributes. One way to improve listings is by following these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory.
  2. At the top of the page, click Listing Enhancements where you can see all the products that have missing or incomplete attributes.
  3. In the Enhancement column, you can check for issues for each SKU.
  4. Click Edit against the corresponding SKUs that need enhancing and add the missing attribute.

Or you can go to Inventory > Manage Inventory > Add Products via Upload and change attributes for multiple ASINs via a partial update.

The fulfilment method and SKU need to be the same in the source and target marketplaces

The Build International Listings Tool only connects and synchronises listings that have the same fulfilment method and SKU.

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory.
  2. Select the listings for which you want to change the fulfilment method.
  3. Click Action and select Convert to Fulfilled by Amazon or Change to Fulfilled by Merchant.
  4. You can also create a new SKU in the source or target marketplace for the offer with the fulfilment method that matches the other.
Note: Make sure that SKUs match in the source and target marketplaces.

The SKU provided is too long or contains invalid characters

The Build International Listings tool cannot synchronise your SKUs, either because it is too long or it contains invalid characters. You can resolve this issue by either creating a new SKU for the FBA offer or changing the SKU.

To change the SKU, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory
  2. Click Edit on the listing for which you want to change the SKU.
  3. Edit the SKU in the Variations tab.

The listing cannot be synchronised due to its plug type

Specify the plug type for your listings so that the Build International Listings tool can synchronise them.

  1. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Manage Inventory.
  2. Select the listings for which you want to add or change the plug type.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the More Details tab, you can adjust the plug type if the ASIN is in the right product category.
