UPS to FBA Missing Delivery

Hi All,

Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, but I couldn’t seem to find the info I needed.

I sent a shipment with UPS to an Amazon FBA centre.

I queried this with UPS as it was out for delivery on 21st October but no mention of it being delivered or any further updates after that.

UPS have said it’s missing and I should open an investigation, turns out I can’t do that through their website as the label was issued via the Amazon website.

They have suggested contacting Amazon.

Amazon have said the usual copy and paste rubbish, blah blah blah once delivered then it will take 5-10 to moved to receiving status - not actually addressing the query!

Essentially, either side aren’t being very helpful.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any advice on how to get it resolved, so far we’re just going round in circles.

Thanks

Deliveries are grossly delayed at the moment. Sent up my shipment on the 13th and was only delivered yesterday and still not ‘received’ which has caused me to go out of stock on one of my items. This is what was showing when I tracked it: 25

Delay was caused by Amazon themselves asking for it, which is so annoying! I think they must simply be receiving such huge volumes of stock that they can’t keep up.

Hi, what does it show in the scheduled delivery date on the shipping events page. I have had this before and the scheduled delivery date kept being put back, the FC couldn’t take delivery of it yet and it was held by UPS. In my case UPS said the same but it was just a case that the delivery had not yet been made.
If the scheduled delivery date still shows as the 21st October then it could just be waiting for updates. Mine have taken over a week before to show delivery
Hope that helps

depending on the size and where its going it could still be waiting to be accepted, have you sent the message from UPS saying its missing etc as a screenshot to Amazon?

Yes we get this all the time. It rights itself in the end, in fact we have a couple which were showing out for delivery on 20th until today and have now updated to ‘out for delivery’ today (29th).

Chill, it’ll get there

Hi,

I just experienced something similar and am wondering how to let Amazon know that UPS has lost the shipment.

It was their tracking numbers but how to let Amazon know the shipment has been declared lost?

I’ve had 1 shipment go missing in the years I’ve been using UPS to ship to Amazon using the FBA preferred carrier scheme.

UPS customer services will tell you it’s missing long before Amazon will accept that it is. UPS customer services are very likely to be wrong, and the package is in the queue to be received at the FC.

UPS customer services will also tell you to put a claim in, which you cannot do, only Amazon can do that.

I’m afraid you need to be patient and wait for the FC to book it in. Once it’s been longer than 10 days since the last update on either the tracking events in your AMazon account and the parcel on UPS tracking, then open a case with Seller Support and tell them you believe that your shipment is lost in transit. Amazon will handle any claim with UPS and refund you based on the cost of them items net of Amazon fees.

If you mean the FBA pre-release date for orders they will only be able to order once it docs at a fulfilment center but even that is backed up at certain FC we have a large QTY of shipments still in receiving

For missing I really would not start to worry until around 5 weeks have passed since collection, what sometimes can happen is it may be dropped at either a UPS depot as Amazon FC have refused due to backlog or dropped at FC but missed a scan on one of these and usually they turn up.
Amazon will refund you for the items average sale price if lost but I think its 6 weeks before you can actually raise a case

It happens a lot this time of year and it’s typically nothing to worry about. If a warehouse gets backlogged the parcels can sit in a container for a week or two (or three come mid November) with no tracking updates and the original planned delivery date still shows on the UPS tracking page.

One of ours which was collected on the 16th hadn’t been updated since the 19th, in fact it still shows as ‘in transit’ with UPS, but it all came in as Received on FBA two nights ago and a couple of items have sold and shipped out today.

It’s also normal for Amazon to take preorders on FBA inbound stock. The expected delivery date is displayed on the product page and at checkout. If the buyer cancels before it ships or the stock never arrives it won’t count against your account metrics.

With UPS shipments the trailer physically goes to Amazon as they are the partnered courier, so its probably in a queue waiting to be unloaded, its extremely unlikely its been lost.

Similar thing happened to us month ago. A box from consignment is missing. Amazon won’t do anything, UPS say Amazon needs to enquire. So stuck in a loop, I think we are not getting these back…
