DD + 7 March 2026

Good morning all Amazon Sellers!

We are fortunate that we have had Grandad rights after selling for many many years on Amazon and have not had the dreaded DD+7 disbursement applied until now.

I appreciate we are lucky we have had this and the majority of sellers are already on DD+7 but for those who aren't have they had any success at least delaying this as cash flow will be greatly affected by this change?

Made no difference to us as when we first started selling on amazon they held our funds in a reserve for 14 days anyway. But yes it does affect cashflow. It would be a hell of a lot easier to run my business with the money paid into my account within 24 hours like ebay do and we feel much better off!!

it’s worth noting that eBay payout within 24 hours and if an item not received case is opened against us then eBay simply take the refund out of our available funds. Simple. So these 14 day holds by Amazon are just unnecessary and sounds illegal to me

What is Grandad rights. Is it a matter of speech? I am only asking as we do sell for many many years as well and we do have the DD+7 applied.

Nevertheless, this rule, indeed has no justification. And no there should be no defferall. This should be abandoned as an idea

Thank you for sharing these updates.

I see that some sellers are reporting being transitioned to DD+7 over the past few days.

I am in contact with our partner team about any possible delays. Please check back if you have specific questions about DD+7.

You make it sound as if it's a good thing!!! Only for Amazon, nothing good about it for sellers, from what I can see. I stand to be corrected.

If this policy is meant to "protect customers and sellers" why do you hold 50% of the sellers monthly revenue when their defect rate is just 0.06%? Why does Amazon take 4 working days after disbursement to pay the seller? Why didn't Amazon inform its sellers of the introduction date of 4th May? Why does Amazon think its a good idea to hold a vast amount of funds when Temu and ebay disburses DAILY? Or is it that Amazon has lost control of its sellers by opening its marketplace to too many unknown sellers such as OCGs selling fake goods? Amazon is losing its stronghold on the UK market by opting for this policy. It should be adapted so only those sellers with poor performance and a high return rate not sellers with a low defect rate. By implementing this policy you are encouraging sellers to grow on other platforms. There are more marketplace platforms now available, and more are being introduced this year. Amazon should be protecting its good sellers, not forcing them to build their businesses on other platforms. This policy will backfire, as it did a few years back. We are already growing our business on many other new and existing platforms thanks to the introduction of this poorly thought out and executed policy.

Please can I have some answers so I can share with the press? Thank you

Totally agree its ludicrous.

Never had a chargeback in 12 yrs, account health 0%, feedback 100% .Monthly returns average 1.2% of revenue yet they currently hold 54% of my funds.

DD+7 is the standard experience for 99.3% of sellers worldwide as of today.

All sellers that registered after mid-2016 are on DD+7 by default. Under 1% of sellers as of today who registered before 2016 remained on this legacy setting and were now being aligned to the same standard. There is no special treatment or exception process — the policy is universal to ensure a consistent and fair reserve framework across the seller community.

It's not a one off cash flow. Because what seems to be happening is Amazon are deferring DD+7 but they are not deferring the Fee's from the deferred transaction or the Advertising cost aspect?

View post

Cost of Advertising and Shipping Services purchased through Amazon are not deferred. They will continue to be charged directly to your account at the time of purchase or service billing, which has not changed.

Fees that are part of a customer order (such as referral fees and FBA fulfillment fees) are deferred along with the order payment and will be charged when the payment for the transaction is released.
