STRANGE... Asked by Amazon to answer a customer question on the main page, then 3 times removed my answer, BUT accepts answers from my buyer account instead

STRANGE... Asked by Amazon to answer a customer question on the main page, then 3 times removed my answer, BUT accepts answers from my buyer account instead

Bit odd. I get this email from Amazon titled “Can you answer this question about…”
(an item I sell).

The question is seller-specific (do you send it packed in a box, or in a bag?).

Obviously, that’s not the space to ask offer-specific questions, as the answer will be posted on the main product page and concerns only 1 offer.

So I reply that they need to click on the offers link, get to the seller profile’s page and ask the seller from there.

Each time, my post appears at first then gets removed - no notification from Amazon, so if I hadn’t checked I wouldn’t even know my prospective buyer (who thinks he’s contacted me) is kept waiting with no reply.

Finally, I post it from my buyer account, and then it’s accepted and stays!

Will the buyer also receive my 1st replies by email ?
And the one from a customer account, even though I was not asked as a customer?

Anyone had this experience?

Why even send me the question if I may not answer it!

Another odd thing is that I was able to answer the same thing with my buyer account (so it didn’t answer the question either by their criteria), but that stayed!
