Listings Being Removed (Item discontinued)
Hey everyone,
I've noticed a trend in the past few weeks. Many video game listings are being removed with the "Item discontinued" tag, which doesn't really makes sense. But here's the odd part: their "Renewed" counterparts aren't disappearing at all.
Has anyone else noticed this discrepancy, either with video games or in other categories? I'm curious to know if this is a widespread issue or just something I'm experiencing.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

We sell thousands of media titles and this happens every week. Amazon is simply cleaning out products due to age or complaints from buyers. Make sure you delete them from your inventory, because if you don't, sooner or later you will get violation notices for trying to sell them.
Now on another note. We only sell new products, no used. We do delete them from our inventory and wait a few weeks and create a new listing for the products. Seems the Bots don't pick up on this and we go back to selling the product again. Not sure is this will work with used products.

It's been happening to me as well over the last few weeks out of nowhere. Video games that I've been selling steadily over the last couple of years have been getting their listings deleted.
No idea why.

As others have already stated: Amazon getting out of the 2nd hand game business. Which is too bad, the games command a much higher price here than on the bay.
It's a quality issue, too many sellers not testing the games assuming they work after they lived in -20 to 140 degree attic or 90% humidity cellar for 20 years before it was marketed.
We had a good thing and the amateurs ruined it for everyone.

Yes, seeing the same thing with "Item is discontinued due to no active offers or listing is incomplete"; all games have active offers and the listings are complete. Looks like a glitch, contacted Amazon but they told us to re-list; only problem is all reviews and sales rank are gone.
Just a few of what was removed in last 2 weeks:
Lego Lord of the Rings for the Nintendo DS, UPC 883929248596
Imagine Babyz for the Nintendo DS, UPC 008888163879
Reel Fishing for the PS4, UPC 719593160055
Based upon the sales rank of what they are removing and the fact that the renewed listings for the SAME titles are there, this does not appear to be a catalog cleanup.

I believe i figured out how to fix these listings. The issue is that "format" is now a required attribute and it's blank on a lot of the listings. This is causing them to get stranded under that "item discontinued" reason.
Click "edit listing" on one of your stranded items. Go to the "product details" tab, scroll down and find the "format" attribute. If its blank select one. This should fix it.
For some listings your going to get the yellow banner on top that says you can't make changes cause you're not the brand owner. For those you'll have to open a case and ask seller support to update the format field.

Old electronics not sold by the manufacturer anymore are discontinued on amazon after some time. They'll only be available as Amazon Renewed. Even if you have brand new in box products.
