EVRI Shipping Problems

This is just a heads up for those who are using EVRI (or are thinking about switching to them). This has popped up today on the Beeb:

The main reason for posting this is what is stated by EVRI in relation to the problems, namingly:

It said the delivery sector was experiencing higher than normal demand “driven in part by the Royal Mail strikes”.

Evri also says it’s experiencing “final-mile staffing shortages” - a lack of drivers - in some areas.

Customers have complained that Evri’s online help service is no use, and that getting hold of staff by phone or e-mail is extremely difficult.

Evri says customers with concerns about a delivery should contact the seller first.

Evri is very hit and miss at the moment. Some items I dropped off on Saturday morning where received yesterday. Others have been outstanding for over a week with delays.

I have had a good experience of Evri this year with very few issues so their current porblems are the exception. Putting aside staffing shortages I think the biggest problem is more volume due to the RM strikes.

That infuriated me, We have the same contact problems the customers do and have to use the same crappy tracking portal which is next to useless.

Great, I think I’ll switch my parcels to Royal Mail :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I read that but have not found any issues with them yet. Sent my son and his lot their xmas pressies on Saturday and they were delivered last night. That’s going from Scotland to Kent so some areas seem to be working well.

I just received the below message this morning, looks like a case of cut-and-paste at customer services! Generally parcels are getting through OK but a handful are stuck.

My name is Katie and I work in the local depot. Black Friday sales and the festive period have created a surge in parcel volumes, and this has resulted in some parcels being delayed in our depot, including this one. We are confident this parcel will be delivered in time for Christmas, but we would ask for your patience. In the unlikely event that this parcel is not delivered within the next 10 days, please follow the normal claims process.
Many Thanks

Since I started using Evri a couple of weeks ago I’ve sent 183 parcels with them as of yesterday. Looking through the tracking, 3 appear to be stuck in limbo for whatever reason, all sent on 27 Nov.

That’s probably a similar rate than Royal Mail were managing, but I assume if these ones stay AWOL I will eventually be able to claim from Evri, whereas with RM I could not.

I moved to Evri 3 weeks ago after having been with Royal Mail for over 9 years, I have not had any more issues then I would have normally had with Royal Mail and I’m saving around 20% on Royal Mail prices, happy that I made the switch.

At the weekend our local Evri guy was seen hiding parcels a bush. Someone seen him do it and took the parcels out the bush and hand delivered them.

Loads of customers said they recieved the ‘item delivered’ and just a black photo (from in the bush)

I suspect this doesn’t happen in most areas. She sent photos of proof to Evri and this guy still has a job!

Lots of reports on local FB groups that Evri drop off points aren’t accepting any more parcels at the moment. Also quite a few people reporting missing parcels from Evri, DPD and Amazon. And someone going round in a van following delivery drivers then stealing parcels off doorsteps.
