Read onlyJust received an email for VTR policy update starting on January 15, 2025
Section of email below laugh of the day:
Providing tracking information improves the customer experience and reduces the likelihood of negative feedback. This information also helps protect your account health metrics and is taken into consideration in addressing A-to-z Guarantee claims.
1, Most buyers don't even look at the tracking as all you get is emails quoting Where's My Stuff.
2, And then the best part valid tracking will be taken in consideration on A-to-Z Claims, hopefully that part will become true!!!!
Basically they are going to force everyone to use full tracking for all orders, regardless of how cheap the order is, that will either force people out of business, put prices up, or just get people to stop selling on amazon, especially when Ebay is free to list these days.
Amazon seem to only make decisions which hurt the sellers on its platform, it seems they no longer want smaller independent sellers, and only want big merchants or chinese sellers
What happens to items marked as 'Self Delivery' after this date
They ask us to check the FAQ page but i has not been updated, whats the point of that
It would certainly be possible to read 'VTR will be measured on orders shipped through all shipping service providers and will no longer be limited to those that are integrated with Amazon to provide scan information' as the percentage will be calcuated on ALL orders, though the email is vague to the point of uselessness and as you say, neither of the supplied links have actually been updated.
Why amazon persist with this approach is beyond me.
Does this mean if I send an item to say France, it now has to have tracking if the value is over £20?
Yes, would definitely love to know if this means the end of Small 1st Class Letters. Even Large Letters are only scanned upon delivery so surely it means the end of all of it? 🤯
A bizarre move by Amazon in our opinion. 40% of our orders go overseas without tracking with very little noise.
From 2025 most of these will now have to be tracked, increasing the cost to the customer significantly. Customers can easily buy the same product from our other platforms for less.
The only impact of this is that customers buy elsewhere. Amazon is already the most expensive platform for sellers and this will make Amazon totally uncompetitive. It won't take buyers long to realise this.
Surely if we are to abide by the VTR policy for international orders we would need to buy the labels through Amazon Buy Shipping? As far as I am aware, there are no carriers available on Amazon UK that ship to international destinations. Anyone else agree?
I live on an offshore island where amazon buy shipping is not supported and so use stamps
I normally pop parcels in the post box
If I have to send everything tracked:
1.It will cost more
2. It will cause delays since I will have to go to the post office to send everything tracked
3. It will be an absolute nightmare !!!
Just pointing out that from how this is worded, they could just mean that they won't apply the order defect even if they grant the claim.
i send all item large letter via amzon as had to do this last year becouse of vtr instead of useing click and drop
does this new change every thing will have to be sent signed for
