Losing Buy Boxes to Myself

Hi guys,

I’ve been using FBA for a month or two now and my buy box rate has steadily been falling. It’s currently down below 40%. These are listings for my own private brand, there are no other sellers competing for the buy box and I only sell through FBA.

Can anyone explain what’s going on here?

Many thanks

Amazon really like stability in pricing and will either remove the buy box or send a warning if prices change by more than they think they should. If you want the buy box then yes incremental changes are better,

As the only seller on the listings though, you will need to determine whether having the buy box is important enough to make changes.

Have you actually checked your listings to see if you do have the buy box and it’s just the widget that’s wrong ?

Hi, thanks for taking the time.

Yeah, I definitely have lost some but the 40% figure seems far too low. Is the widget known to be wrong?

when you say you have lost them, is it showing as ‘see all buying options’ rather than a buy box ?

if so, are you on the pro plan and also have you raised your prices or sell them elsewhere cheaper ?

I’m on the pro plan and I have increased prices (I dropped some by 20% to increase sales, then put them back up by 30%). If sudden price increase is the culprit, do you reckon a more incremental price increase would allow me to maintain the buy box?

Thanks again for the help, by the way. Sometimes it’s just more reassuring to ask a real person.

The buy box is now just another sponsored product but instead you have to pay for it by reducing your prices. It’s a big stick that Amazon unfairly use to make you lower your prices.

It hurts buyers too as most don’t know to click on the small “see all buying options” text, they don’t see a buy button, they move on. Amazon are the only website on the planet that removes a buy button from the product page.
