ON TIME DELIVERY RATE FIASCO
Amazon have now knuckled down on how they metric on time delivery/time in transit.
Our metric is horrific thanks to this. However, I get why they've done it, but I have NO WAY to address the issue:
1) Royal Mail - I have no control over how fast or slow they deliver.
2) Even if I wanted to I cannot modify our transit time because it is "Managed by Amazon". So surely, surely, Amazon should be setting it automatically to something that doesn't screw our account health?!

Adjust your handling time. Better to underpromise and over deliver than over pro mise and under deliver.
This will help your metrics however your sales may go down the pan.

SSA alone is not enough to satisfy Amazon they also require you to use Buy Shipping along with one of Automated Handling Time or having handling time set to 1 day less
If you do the above then you won't get penalised for late shipments.
Personally I will just see how it goes. I am above 90% now and have been since they launched the metric.

See here, FAQ section 2, no mention of Amazon Buy Shipping:

With SSA enabled, your account health is protected from negative feedback due to late deliveries, and we will suppress negative feedback related to late deliveries on your SSA orders, as long as:
You shipped the orders on time
You provided valid tracking information
At ship confirm, you used a shipping service that matches (or is faster than) the service that was used by SSA used to calculate delivery promise. You can see what method was used on Order Detail page and Order API.
The order was shipped domestically.

Right, you'll be protected from negative feedback, but the OTDR metric isn't feedback, negative or otherwise.

They had a Q&A about it via a forum posted by someone from Amazon.
People were meant to get answers by the 24th of September but I don't see any replies to any of the 50+ questions including mine. And if the answers were sent privately, I definitely didn't get one.
They won't allow anymore comments or replies on it either.
Just shows how much they care about their sellers questions

Even with SSA enabled for protection, finding it impossible to prove Shipped on Time with our Royal Mail business collections even though we always ship same day.
They go by the First scan at the mail centre which we are finding is not always same day as collection - particularly RM 48 Tracked which has been between 1- 5 days after.
We tried to solve this by getting our friendly collections postperson to scan at our premises which she agreed to do but Amazon show this scan as showing status as "Return or Replacement or Exchange Collection Succeed"" and a late dispatch
