Black friday news
Hello,
is everybody expecting a busy Friday next week or just standard due to black Friday starting on the 22nd?
Only a month ago amazon told me they would have a countdown to blackfriday sale, even stated on the FBA deals, it would be a countdown, no idea whats going on this year.

Everyone -as in retail businesses - is running a week long BF sale. Even M&S, Lakeland and Boyes
So the competition is fierce atm. Friday might be a bit of a damp squib unless the prices are extraordinarily low.

Personally I think it’s 3 things.
-
Retail Offering Strong: Since September up until now Retail has been very strong this year in it’s offers. Amazon seem to have a black hole between back to school / uni and Black Friday in that they run no deals or have anything special going on. Retailers seem to have wised up to this and spent the past 8+ weeks running good quality deals. You’ve have toy sales at all the major supermarkets and other deals such as Tesco offering good deals on the Nintendo Switch and Games to name one of many. Argos has also been running weekly discount codes.

BlackFriday waiting game: People are now use to how Black Friday works and these “week long” deals from various retailers. Not only is this going to spread customers but you’ve got a lot of customers who know retailers are trying to get their money before Black Friday so they’re not as busy on a single day… I suspect you have a lot of people waiting for actual Black Friday before parting with their cash

PAY DAY: If you get paid on the last Friday of the month then you’ve been waiting since the 25th October to get paid again and won’t get back again until the 29th November. This for most (unless your paid weekly / every 2 weeks) is the last pay before XMAS… So people might be low on cash and waiting for pay day!
Personally I’m expecting sales to be down this week as people click on the Black Friday deals first…
