Royal mail 1st and 2nd class with barcodes
Hi all,
I purchase shipping labels directly via amazon and use 1st or 2nd class small packet service (standard, not signed-for).
For ebay I use the same process and I noticed that each consignment has a tracking number on there and it shows when an order has been delivered.
Does anyone know why the same is not available on Amazon? Since it’s exactly the same click and drop service as ebay? Amazon doesn’t even show the parcel number, let alone any tracking details?
All labels I generate have the 2D click and drop label.
Thanks!

You can use the barcode number and put it into Royal Mail’s website to determine when it’s been delivered. The barcode number should be something like 0600272E16C.
It’s a shame that Amazon doesn’t keep the barcode tracking number, so you’d need to do it yourself (either save the PDF of the labels or keep Post Office receipts)

Hi Barry
I tried entering this number in RM website but got this message:
Sorry - we don’t recognise that number. Please check the information below to make sure your tracking code is correct.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks guys.
Can I ask the URL you are using for tracking? Perhaps I am on the wrong page altogether.
Also I’ve removed the image of the code, thanks for the heads up Barry.

Thanks again! Not sure what the issue was but it’s working now
I have another question if you are able to advise. This customer has been in touch to say that their order wasn’t delivered.
I messaged them back to say I will investigate but based on the tracking number, it would appear that the item has been delivered?
Where do I stand in this case? I’ve read conflicting opinions, some say that amazon will accept this tracking as proof of delivery and others say the opposite.
Should I confront the customer or is there no point since amazon would probably rule in their favour?
Many thanks!

Thank you everyone for your input, it’s been very helpful!
The customer didn’t even respond to my first email but I sent them another, saying that the parcel has been marked as delivered and politely asking them to check for a RM calling card or to ask their neighbours. And also to confirm their address.
If they don’t respond I guess that means they were just after a free item
Thanks again!
