Stuck extra postage on to cover VTR amazon pricing errors?

Anyone know what I’m supposed to do? I’ve put £3 postage on £1.99 products to cover tracked and Amazon has inactivated all those products because of a pricing error

Firstly how do Amazon know it’s a pricing error, it’s our products and we have to add the postage costs to cover their ridiculous Tracking,
I don’t know how to reactivate the listings?
Any ideas?

What postage did you originally have on those £1.99 products?

Amazon look at what typically has been charge historically and if significantly above that will susspend as a pricing error.

In order to move on from this and protect your VTR can you advise how you post. Be specific. Carrier, via what method/RM code etc. If you use C&D do you use code CRL?

What we have done is to make a shipping template on Amazon with all items under £5 staying at free shipping these are now sent BPL all the rest we’ve added a postage cost and they go Tracked48

All go C&D and the data goes to Amazon, all the un-scanned BPL’s are not being counted like the CRL ones were and the tracked ones count within VTR as they have more than one scan through their journey.

Our VTR rate is improving as each of the older ones drop off and we’ve reached the point where our new shipping regime has started.

Putting on a shipping cost has reduced sales but not by much and doing it the template way none of our listings has been pulled for pricing errors so far.

Can anyone help?

I am quite a new seller so trying to get my head round this.

I am buying by shipping through Amazon BUT I do not have a RM account to link yet.

Amazon label says “1st class large letter” or “2nd class large letter”. I realise this is not the CRL 24 / 48 service.

My question is: is this still valid VTR? I read that Amazon will class it as VTR providing its purchased through Amazon. Can anyone tell me if this definitely covers “1st class large letter” or “2nd class large letter”.

I have applied for a RM account but not going to be through for a couple of weeks. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I have no real idea how this will all pan out but as a direct result I have:

A) Stopped offering free shipping
B) Increased postage on the CD element of my stock
C) Increased prices of all new stock being entered
D) Will be sending 2nd Tracked

This will result in
A) No free postage for customers
B) Higher postage cost for customers
C) Higher prices on new stock
D) Delivery times will not be altered one iota.

So, in the end, customer loses.
And if I never make the VTR cut - like thousands of other sellers - I’ll be heaved off Amazon = Less choice for customers and higher prices.

Don’t use tracked. This is still allowed.

If you’ve never sent them tracked before I really don’t think that, because of VTR, you now must.

Send them by Royal Mail 1st or 2nd Class (standard) through C&D - at least that’s what I have been doing for years and it is what I will continue to do.

I believe that there are common misconceptions regarding VTR because amazon do not know how to write understandable update emails.

Though, that said; the point highlighted above is beyond contestation.

I really do hope that I’m correct in my interpretation - we’ll see.

Thanks for clarifying, appreciate it. I am waiting for my RM account to come through so it was either this or stamps!

We currently use third party software ( Aimco Express ) to collect and despatch all our orders via C&D . This is then uploaded to Amazon. In busy times it can be up to 1,000 orders a day and as far as we can see this cannot be integrated with buy shipping on Amazon so we are still stuck with an 80% VTR. Any help would be much appreciated as it is not viable for us to manually deal with orders on buy shipping.

Why are people saying “Oh if you use buy shipping on amazon your fine”. Well thats not what the VTR reports are showing !

You can buy 24/48 on amazon and they provide a blue hyperlink. However, tons are still showing as not Valid VTR even when provided by Amazon.

I dont trust the robot scrapers not to wipe out everyones accounts. They take down listings for little or no reason and now we are being asked to Trust come the 19th it will all be ok despite the system saying otherwise ???

Am I the only one worried here !
