Don't see size or colour in my orders

I sell under clothing. When I am making a sale the only info I get is the general sale. It does not tell me the size or colour. I have to take the SKU number, and then go look for it in the inventory which is increibly tedious.

I am doing something wrong or is this just how it is?

You should be adding the colour + size to the sku. I add it to the sku and the child variation titles .
