Reimbursement for lost items
Has anyone noticed that Amazon are suddenly paying less for lost items?
I have just been reimbursed £40 for 3 units that would have sold at £180 in total.
Last week I got reimbursed £117 for 6 units that would have sold at £240.
I understand that the reimbursements are meant to reflect the net amount we would have received but these 2 seem very low.

You don't get reimbursed what they would sell for, you get reimbursed what they cost you. amazon will reimburse you the amount that shows in sourcing costs section of your Inventory Defect and Reimbursement. You can provide the cost price if it is incorrect, you will need to upload proof.

This has been the case since March 2025. You would only get your sourcing costs. You would need to upload your sourcing invoice. They may not pay vat back, just the unit fee.
Even in the past seller support just used to throw in a fiver for units that cost (sourcing cost was around £12) although they were against lost/damaged in warehouse reimbursement policy. Seller support has no idea that their prime role is to offer seller a positive experience, neither do they have the inclination to understand. In fact they have no idea what made this platform great and globlal, neither do they have any inclination to understand. They have no idea of the business model that amazon thrived on, successfully, neither do they have any inclination to understand. Why mention just the seller support, even the newer management do not understand the point of having a seller support infrastructure, neither do they have any inclination to understand . They are making very bad policies, from bad to worse, ripping off every logbook that actually made this platform successful with sellers.
Anyway from March 2025 they have legitimised their habit of issuing low reimbursements, but at least they promise to reimburse source price. You however, need to submit invoice and not just random bills. If they do not reimburse you, then open case and send in the number of case to the management. If you post it here, sometimes moderators do pick up and do their best to help. In fact only the moderators here on the forum are interested in us and our grievances. So tag them with a case ID.
I got out of FBA in lightening speed when this one came into effect because you could lose your entire parcel or lose several goods over time and they pay you only sourcing fee, doesn't appeal to me. I believe they could add on consequential loss if they have insurance in order. Likewise they could ease our problems by having very strict policies on issuing refunds to customers. They could further ease our problems if they allow returns of all units instead of coming up with mickey mouse policies on returns and then fraudulently keeping our goods and re-selling it as warehouse deals (This has happened to me. They lost track of my units, they then threw in fiver and then sold my units at a ridiculous price of £39.99.)
My advise to you and anyone who is not willing to lose money: Get out of FBA, fast. Because I forsee more charges, lesser reimbursements, crippling policies on listing concerns where they refuse to return goods or reimburse.
