Holiday Order Cancellation
Hi All,
I have an FBM order that has been Pending for 4 days and I fly off today for 2 weeks (yes, I know that some of you have been in that situation)
Just a suggestion to Amazon that Holiday Cancellation be included in the reasons for order cancellation - not that it'll make any difference to your 'pings' but so that the customer understands why the order has been cancelled
Bye...

Hi @Seller_19xPhE8YgkmxW
Thanks for sharing your experience, and enjoy your holiday!
This is actually a situation many FBM sellers run into at some point. You step away for a few days, then an order appears at the worst possible time.
Regarding the order that's currently showing as Pending, there isn't much you can do with it yet. Pending orders usually mean Amazon is still processing the buyer's payment. Until the order moves out of Pending status, it can't be shipped or canceled by the seller. In most cases, the order will either become a regular order within a few days or cancel automatically if the payment can't be completed.
For future trips, it's worth taking advantage of Vacation Settings before you leave. Turning your FBM listings inactive prevents new orders from coming in while you're away, which helps avoid last-minute surprises. If you also sell through FBA, those listings will continue to stay active since Amazon handles the fulfillment.
You can find Vacation Settings under:
Settings → Account Info → Going on a vacation?
Once you're back, simply switch your listings back to Active.
I also think your suggestion about having a specific "Holiday Cancellation" reason makes sense. Sellers occasionally face situations where they're unavailable because of planned travel, family commitments, or holidays, and having a dedicated option could provide better context than the current cancellation choices. If you'd like to see something like that considered, submitting feedback through Seller Central is the best way to get it in front of the teams that review seller suggestions.
A few things that can help before your next trip:
• Turn on vacation mode a day or two before leaving.
• Review your handling times and adjust them if needed.
• Use the holiday settings in Shipping Settings to account for days you won't be operating.
Hopefully that helps clarify what happened and gives you a few options for the future. Have a great holiday and safe travels!
