My brand name has been changed by amazon automatically
Hi,
I am the legal owner of my own brand and also registred with amazon brand registry. I sell only my own products on my listings. There is no any other sellers on my listings as well.
Couple of weeks ago my brand name started to be changed by amazon system automatically. First the issue was simple, My brand is registered with all capital letters and the changing was like from “XXXXX” to “Xxxxx”
However couple of days ago the brand name started to be changed from “Xxxxx” to “YYYYY” which is completely different from my brand. Whenever I try to fix and change the brand name to my original brand, system did not allow me to do.
Hundred of times I contacted to customer support, catalogue team, brand registry team but they were so useless as no one solved my problem. They just keep sending standart template messages.
This issue started to be so serious as almost 90% of my listing has been changed which means I also lost the control on my listings. Now the brand on my own listings totally different and links between my brand and my listings was broken.
That’s really annoying and fraustrating !! How would that be possible ? No one has access to my accounts but me and the system is really going crazy day by day.
Has anyone faced that kind of issue or any idea how to proceed to fix issue?

Anyone can change the catalog. It’s most likely a Chinese seller. Sometimes they hijack the product, other times they just want the reviews and they change the product completely.
It can also be software gone rogue. A couple years ago, the brand Acloudate took of thousands of listings in the catalog on accident.
It’s a very serious problem because you can get intellectual property strikes, which cause defects and can shut down an account. The only way to fix those is to go back and fix the brand name. The strikes disappear as soon as the brand is fixed.
If you have stock in FBA, I would consider getting it out now, while you still can. Once you’re banned you will not get your stock back.
It’s very difficult to change back once this happens. Keep opening cases with seller support daily, maybe even multiple cases at once. Eventually, one will ask for a photo of your product and change it back, but it takes many attempts to get help with seller support.
You can also try to fix it yourself. This happened to my German listings when I used ‘sell internationally’ to translate my listings into German, and it translated a brand name that had the same first 3 letters, but was the wrong brand. I’ve really struggled to get them back, in fact, it took years to get all of them. I found that sometimes, changing one letter at a time, once a day, allows you to fix the brand over time. But it some cases that never works and the listing is fully locked down. For those, you just need to keep opening seller support cases until someone helps you. I suspect it was a human that did this, specifically because they started with changing one letter on the brand before continuing.

The weird thing no one is selling my listings but me.
Aslo when I create a new listings with my own brand name, It is being changed to that brand name automatically just after the creation process. I keep opening cases as you said, thanks to seller support, they dont take any action.
I am trying to fix it myself everyday as well but that doesn’t work as system does not allow me to do.
This is really so annoying, I have already lost the control on my listing as the links has been broken
I really dont know what to do
The system is not supposed to allow that to change the brand name of my listings as I have my GS1 barcodes which is connected with my brand

After the hundreds of cases, finally I was able to make that changes and I have my listings back.

That was really annoying and painfull process!!
I kept opening new cases on daily basis and tried to change my brand on the affected listings all the time manually. Somehow yesterday they started to change and corrected to my original brand. Now It looks like all sorted.

I´ve been having troubles with the same issue and same experience with seller support.
I´ve already opened different cases for the brand to be fixed as the original name.
I register my brand name with amazon after a 4561 error and then got the chance to do a GTIN exception, so my brand name shouldn’t be change automatically.
What freaks me the most is that not only the brand is different but also sexist. My original brand is XXWarrior they changed to XXMale our branding is about diversity and unisex accessories.

I just wanted to let you know that after a million open cases I got my Brand Name fix!!!
In my case the lead was to mention I was not approve for the wrong brand it appear rather than ask them to fix or change the original one. Also mentioning it was a category problem not an individual Asin problem.
So after they confirm that and we were all “in the same page” I had the first step to ask them to fix it.
It took some time even after they acknowledge the issue but at least it felt as we were making progress.
