Is anyone else having trouble listing a product? UPC not matching the product

Im trying to add a product and We keep getting this message.

You are using UPCs, EANs, ISBNs, ASINs, or JAN codes that do not match the products you are trying to list. If you believe you have reached this message in error, please contact Seller Support.

I purchased my GTIN numbers from GS1 UK.

I have used product id - 13 didgits EAN and also tried 14 digits (0+EAN) GTIN. Each time I deleted first listing cleared cookies and browsing history and then tried to input again. I have also tried to add listing using another laptop and on my Samsung phone and i get the same error message.

i have - Cleared cookies, cache (“temporary Internet files”), and history.

I have - Ensure browser is set to accept cookies.

I have - Reboot computer.

I have - Try to log into Seller Central again.

The operating system - Windows 11
browser type - Google Chrome & also tried Microsoft Edge

I have contacted Seller Support and they are investigating but it has been a few days. Just wondering if anyone else is getting the same error message.

Usually it means that either:

  1. That EAN is locked to another brand name by the brand owner
  2. That EAN has already been used in the Amazon catalogue and is attached to a different brand name (even if it doesn’t come up in a search, or by add products etc)

I’ve had it happen a couple of mine, just use another one, if it happens to a lot of them I would ask GS1 for a new set (not sure they even do this though)

When did you create your GS1 account? was it within the last 48 hours?

Edit : sorry just noticed you said it had been a few days since SS went to investigate

Sometimes it can take a couple of days to get through the system, but should be working by now.

Have you tried looking up the EANs on google to see if it links back to a product somewhere?

Hmm strange, dunno then I’m out of options

Do you want to pm me one and I’ll see if I can add it?

Hmm I am getting the same, if I try to list it as generic it wants me to sell a clutch master cylinder, though I can’t see your EAN on that listing anywhere.

I tried listing them as Generic and using your name attached to your GS1 account, but neither worked, tried a few of them, so sorry but I give up.

Does appear to be something Amazon will need to fix, as they are on GS1 and live and working.

Its like Amazon has the whole string attached to someone else incorrectly.

it’s sounds like it’s nothing to do with the upc’s you purchased being incorrect or not working. Usually with that error it means the Amazon system won’t let you list the specific brand you are trying to without proving the upc’s are Affiliated to the brand in question, either through a letter of authorisation from the brand or licensed manufacturer etc. if it’s your own brand this can also happen and you need to prove your brand is registered to your company and the gs1 prefix is also registered to your company.
