Shipping AGL from China to Germany - super inflated DUTIES!!
Does anyone have experience?
I did my first shipment. Shipping price was great. The shipment landed at the Port in the Netherlands. And I got slapped with duties that were about 50% of my commercial invoice!! They say that they calculate duties based on the sales price of your product at the time of import. This is crazy!! In fact, they had asked me for some report from Seller Central; I thought it was for transparency purposes... but no, they used those sales from the report to calculate duties! How does that make sense?? They had no answer for me...
I'll go back to my regular freight forwarder... AGL just wiped out two months of my Germany profits...

You must have misunderstood something. Customs duty and import sales tax are calculated on the basis of the purchase price up to the EU border. Not on the basis of the sales prices. You get the import VAT back from the tax office.
