Read onlyI have had a return where the customer ordered 3 different designs of clothing. All purchased together and sent in one parcel.
They want to return all 3 items because they didn't read the product description correctly. As it is Fashion they get free returns anyway.
However when they are returning the item it has created 3 return labels one for each design. So now I have to pay just over £10 for the customer to return the items? Why couldn't Amazon have created just one return label?
Amazon logic, 3 items = 3 trackable returns. Otherwise how can they know if three items were returned if an unscrupulous seller claimed only one item was sent back.
However if the customer can't be bothered creating three packages and sends them all back together do you still get charged for the unused labels? Outside of the Amazon bubble I can send a return label in every parcel I send out if I want and will only get charged if/when that label ever gets scanned.
Amazon's introduction of 'Free Return' has significantly increased costs for sellers. There's been a rise in fraudulent returns from some online customers, forcing us to charge higher prices than on other platforms to offset these losses.
Additionally, it's not environmentally friendly. More plastic packaging waste is being generated, particularly when Amazon issues duplicate return labels for the same order, which could be avoided.
This is Amazon, so you can't ever be sure of an answer, but it used to be and is supposed to be the case that you're only charged for the returns label once it receives its first carrier scan.
If they only use one label, then only that label will be scanned, so you should only be charged for that one.
