Amazon own sales

Just a quick question. Where Amazon themselves sell products do they actually purchase from a wholesaler or manufacturer Or do they use the products stored in the Amazon Warehouses by us sellers ?

I believe, with prior agreement, that Amazon can sell items from your stock to the end user. We used to get regular orders from Amazon but I haven't seen one for a while so this may have changed.

Amazon will also buy direct from the manufacturers. I am sure they do this after their own extensive research and not by keeping an eye on other sellers top performing products and then approaching the manufacturers of said products.

The answer is yes to all of them. Generally they buy from suppliers, but there are circumstances where they act as the seller of record when the stock is what a seller sent in. Not in a nefarious way.

Everyone is forced to disclose their supply chain to make sure we are selling "authentic" goods.

All we are actually doing is introducing Amazon to our suppliers so they can go do better deals because of their buying power and undercut us.

Amazon's Vendor Central is for the purpose of buying from manufacturers and distributors to sell on their platform.

Amazon are many brands biggest account. In cases, they can sell at below trade and still make a profit because of the discounts they are offered from brands, though this is a subject that the latter doesn't like to talk about!

This means it is increasingly difficult to make a decent living from Amazon as you cannot compete with them on certain brands/items.

I'm not blaming Amazon, as their buying power is enormous, but it is just the way things are.
