How to update an EAN BARCODE on my own branded product
One of my products was initially listed with a non GS1 barcode (yes, I was Naive and used a different barcode supplier). I have just reprinted my packaging and used a new GS1 barcode. I now need this barcode to be accepted by Amazon but I obviously don’t want to lose the reviews from my current product which is exactly the same except it has the old barcode.
does anyone know the correct process for this? Can I create a new product and then merge the two successfully? Has anyone managed to do this?
Many Thanks

I am interested in knowing the answer to this as well
My products were registered with an ean way back in 2011 which doesn’t show on GS1,
although I have a registered trademark brand-name I took over the company so nothing will correlate.
So worried that my large number of near perfect reviews will be lost

You cannot change an Asin’s EAN.It is possible to merge 2 identical listings but its a bit hit & miss I dont believe its possible to merge A into B & carry A’s reviews over to B.

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
My name is Digbijoy and I will be looking into your issue.
We understand that you would like to change the EAN on ASIN: B08MV6721C from 7061255171436 to 5065012696097.
We regret any inconvenience caused. We know it is important for you to update the EAN on this ASIN. We will explain everything here so that you can have this fixed.
Please note that once an ASIN is created there is no way to change the barcode (EAN) on it. The only way to do this is to cleave your offer from ASIN: B08MV6721C which will create a new ASIN. You will be able to enter EAN: 5065012696097 in the new ASIN.
But changing EAN on the same ASIN will not be possible. This is applicable for all sellers, third party sellers and brand owners.
We appreciate your understanding.

Unfortunately there is zero chance of Amazon changing the EAN.
If Amazon haven’t noticed the EAN isn’t a GS1 code, then just keep the listing as is. I don’t think there are any other options. I actually have 2 listings created 3 years ago with non GS1 and Amazon haven’t noticed yet. You make mistakes when you are new.

As above, there’s zero chance of Amazon changing the EAN for you. You used to be able to do it on the old interface but since it got ‘updated’ a couple of years back, the ability has disappeared.
We needed to add EAN’s a while back to register our products for Transparency but our onboarding person had to do a workaround to allow the products to be enrolled, but they still don’t have EAN’s.
