Order volumes following a holiday

Hi, When other sellers place their Amazon store on holiday do they notice a fall of in order volumes when they re open and start to trade again on their return ? I am a small scale seller on Amazon but don’t want to jeopardize the current level of business i enjoy. I’m fearful that my shop will close for a two week period and it will take weeks/months on my return to try and build it back up. Am I being to cautious ? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you

Haven’t noticed much in the way of a drop when switching holiday mode off. What does happen though, if you’re running sponsored ads, is that (at least for me), they all stop working when I try to switch them back on and every time I have to email support to get them to fix it.

If you don’t run ads, consider doing them when you return if you’re worried about a drop in sales.

I went into holiday mode twice during covid19 first time when the horror stories of sellers getting inundated with wheres my stuff emails after about 3 weeks took it out of holiday mode. About two weeks later was told by my post office that the main distribution center in Leeds had a 2/3 weeks backlog and again went into holiday mode for two weeks. On both occasions sales were back to normal within a couple of days. That is my experience but it could depend on the catorgories you sell in, number of competitors etc

I find it does tend to start slowly as some listing take a while to appear, then it picks up and gets back to normal fairly quickly.
