Amazon Price Matching from a "reputable source" lost feature offer.

I've been selling on amazon for the last 8 years and have worked with a few 7 figure accounts. Actively moved each account from Vendor Central to Seller Central for more overall control. Especially getting away from "price matching".

My most recent endeavor has been selling on Amazon for a little over two years now. Our second bestselling ASIN recently lost the "featured offer" due to a "reputable retailer(s) having a better price.

This item isn't sold anywhere other than amazon.

We own and manufacture this product as well as registered on Brand Registry.

There are NO other sellers of this item on amazon, but support is claiming they "found" a cheaper price elsewhere in the market.

1. Since when did Amazon Seller price match retail contributions

2. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? Amazon wants me to drop the price by $5 dollars which would completely destroy my margins.

This all happened after we recorded our best month ever! And this price point hasn't been changed in the last 2 years.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Amazon price matches from everywhere they can find a cheaper price; including big box stores.
