Updating Bullet Points via Bulk Uploads - Now All Disappearing
We are updating tens of thousands of our products Bullet Points and Images via bulk uploads and now all of our Bullet Points have disappeared on our Product Detail pages !
These are custom Art Print products, and under our brand, and we are the only seller, and we created all the listings. There are no other sellers involved that could be "sources" for bullet points.
I've opened numerous cases & spoke to several Amazon Catalog Support personnel - asking them to review our bullet points for errors - and each time getting different issues pointed out !!
Edited our Bullet Points so that
- NO ALL CAPS
- No promotional messaging such as 'high quality', 'bestseller', 'premium' etc.
- No Location (We removed Designed, Printed and Shipped in the United States)
- No claims or guarantees (We removed "guaranteed to last a life time")
- No Special characters ( We removed "|" character from some of our Bullet Points)
This is a really frustrating process - to edit to conform to these Amazon Product Detail Page "Rules" - which are not really explicitly spelled out on the Policy Rules page - and then upload edited listings again - and wait 24-48 hours to see if these will update - and then contact Amazon support personnel again to review Bullet Points and have them point out additional issues that the previous support personnel did not mention !
Looking through similar discussions here - now I see one post suggesting that the colon punctuation mark ":" is considered a special character (which we are using in all of our bullet points)
Is this correct?
Attaching a screen shot of our last edited Bullet Points - hopefully can get a review of these from someone from Amazon who can tell us if these conform to Product Detail Page Rules - before we re-upload these again
Really need these to be fixed ASAP

Having the same problem also, my bullet points are now gone, when i try to update them in bulk....

After numerous edits (and re uploads) of our products - today spoke with (another!) Amazon support person - who checked and indicated that the reason was these Bullet Points exceeded 80 characters in length. Another support person earlier had suggested this might be the reason why bullet points were not appearing.
I explained to him that the Data Definitions on the Template and Processing Summary reports indicates for bullet_points 1-5:
"An alphanumeric string; 500 characters maximum length per bullet point. Please do not include an actual bullet point object, just the text used to describe your product. Note: Type 1 High ASCII characters (®, ©, ™, etc.) or other special characters are not supported."
I had asked another support if this 80 character limit was true and they told me that no it was actually 500 characters like the Data Definitions indicated
But at this point I was desperate to try anything - so trimmed my bulletpoint to 80 characters - and re-uploaded
Voila! Now my Bullet Points are appearing !!!
If any others are experiencing their Bullet Points disappearing - you might want to trim these down to 80 characters.
As the support person explained today the Data Definitions likely have not been updated to reflect this new Amazon Product detail page rule
